Summary

Short stories by Mace Styx.

We passed in front of the men, some of whom gave me angry stares. I laughed inwardly. How easy it was for them to blame another for their own misfortune. I knew some had their eyes on my navigator, while others affixed theirs on me. I had often been the subject of many an attention, but I hardly indulged in such subtle fantasies. Only once in my very long life have I had anyone who could afford me the pleasures I desired. Others had only managed to while away my time. A commodity I possess in excess.

"Al, how long have you been here?" I asked, having been brought to the room where my companion was.

The man to whom I referred as my companion was as evil and as vile as the words depicted. Even though both words were anagrams of one another. And as an anagram is, so were we. One and the same, but yet different in a few ways.

He had a stripper dancing, and he smiled pleasingly at her. He threw his head backwards and a mischievous grin occupied his face. I had seen it all too well. The signs he gave, the sounds he made. They told to clearly of his enjoyment, of his amusement. I shook my head as I picked one of the chairs, noting how different it was from that of the last pub we had visited. They were mildly comfortable, to say the least, but they were clearly different from ones where the regulars perched. If one thing, this establishment wasn't half as bad as I thought.

I noticed the woman was still standing at the center of the room, probably waiting for my order. Now that I was in a good mood, perhaps it was time to see what this the management had to offer.

"Bring me your best girls. And when I mean your best, I mean the very best. So go on, impress me."

The woman seemed to be thinking, having not moved from her spot. I then gave her my most charming smile. I hoped having the looks of a woman didn't make her think I couldn't handle pleasure. I had my own way of entertaining myself. But for now, I would like to be amused. Have a taste of what Al so enjoyed.
