About this listen
The dramatic, gripping new Cooper & Fry crime thriller from best seller Stephen Booth sees the stunning Peak District prove fatal for one walking party.
They knew the danger, but they went anyway....
Almost before she'd stopped breathing, a swirl of mist snaked across her legs and settled in her hair, clutching her in its chilly embrace, hiding her body from view. It would be hours before she was found.
The mountain of Kinder Scout offers the most incredible views of the Peak District, but when thick fog descends there on a walking party led by enigmatic Darius Roth, this spectacular landscape is turned into a death trap that claims a life.
For DI Ben Cooper, however, something about the way Faith Matthew fell to her death suggests it was no accident, and he quickly discovers more than one of the hikers may have had reason to murder their companion.
To make things worse, his old colleague DS Diane Fry finds herself at the centre of an internal investigations storm that threatens to drag Cooper down with it.

Brilliant story well read
Loved this one great story line. I especially enjoyed this one as I came from Notts and now live in Stockport and could see all the landmarks and streets in question as the story went along. Please Stephen bring out a new Cooper and Fry Soon.

Another excellent story in the Cooper Fry series. Ben is moving on and Diane is the same as always.

Good solid crime story.
I enjoyed this book very much, the only hiccup was the sub plot involving an investigation of a fellow officer. I fast forwarded these parts and got back to the story.

I think the earlier books have a bit more depth to them but if was a good story nonetheless.

Bland
Disappointing. The Dianne strand is a rehash of a previous book. The Ben strand is a whodunnit with little or no plot, one-dimensional characters and no dramatic tension. I didn't care who did it in the end, and gave up without finishing the book. The narrator did the best he could but he was working with weak material. The whole thing felt tired, as if the author was coming up with a book demanded by his publishers rather than one he was excited to write.
