Story
Wesley Moore is a walking wet dream. Literally. He's on the school's swim team - and absolutely gorgeous in Speedos. He also has a reputation. I figured he'd be perfect to pop my cherry with no strings attached. One night. That was all I wanted. I'm not looking for a boyfriend. My crazy family would never accept Wes...or any other boy I brought home. I need to get him to sleep with me before I fall for him, and there's only one way to do it. Lace. I've got a whole box full of secret weapons, and I'm not afraid to use them.

Milo. Unusual. Quirky. Different. I’ve heard it all. I’ve accepted I’m not for everyone. When I find out I inherited a bookstore and apartment on a small East Coast island, I jump at the chance for a new life. Turns out I’ve also inherited a sexy, tattooed guy who not only rents the space next to my store but my apartment too. Gideon. I wasn’t looking for a roommate, but it’s not like I can stay at Milo’s place while he’s banished to a hotel. According to Milo, we’re bestie goals. And if he doesn’t wear pants at home, who am I to complain?

Payne. In search of: Room to rent. Must ignore the patheticness of a 40-year-old roommate. Preferably dirt cheap as funds are tight (nonexistent). There’s nothing sadder than moving back to my hometown newly divorced, homeless, and lost for what my next move is. When my little brother’s best friend offers me a place to stay in exchange for menial duties, I swallow my pride and jump at the offer. I need this. I also need Beau to wear a shirt. In my defense, I was left alone with a bottle of single-malt and a lifelong penchant for protecting my baby sister. Still, that's no excuse to send 10 drunk-texts on why her hasty marriage would be a mistake. If only I had just texted my sister. But nope. I accidentally sent the message to her, her groom, and his super hot wingman. I also used the phrase “super hot wingman”, so I’d like to die now.

The job at Sunday Orchard was supposed to be temporary. A chance to gain some work experience, to have some fun. I had not expected to be welcomed into a family of gorgeous and weirdly efficient lumberjack-types, or to find purpose in the tiny Vermont town whose claim to fame seemed to be apple-based products and copious amounts of charm. And I most definitely hadn’t expected to fall for Knox Sunday, my grumpy, burly, fifteen-years-older, reluctant roommate, with his infuriating lectures, his hot-as-fire body, his superior attitude - I’ve never been one to put down roots.

A night on the town after a long workweek at my family's distillery should include shots and dancing - not a hot kiss with a handsome stranger. I'm straight. At least, that's what I figured until I find myself locking lips with a sexy city boy. Now, all my circuits are going haywire, and the spark that ignites between us makes me even more curious. Unfortunately, I kissed the one man who's off-limits: Cohen Mitchell - the sole surviving heir to the Mitchell Creek distillery, a rival neighbor my family has feuded with for nearly a 100 years.

Summary
Needed: fake boyfriend for destination wedding
I came out to my parents when I was 15. Sadly, this has never stopped my mother from finding lovely young women for me to date. My sister suggests I bring my own date to her destination wedding. Problem is, I don't know how to find dates. The only man I've spoken to recently is my roommate. My way too hot - straight - roommate. My sister says I should ask him to play my boyfriend. It'll be fun, she says.
Now, I'm sitting next to him on a plane, and I constantly have to adjust myself so he doesn't notice that I'm into him.
In a few hours we'll be at our hotel, sharing the only bed in the room.
I don't know how I'll survive this wedding without exploding. I do know I'll never listen to my sister again.
Fake the Date is a 60,000-word stand-alone m/m romance with little angst and lots of laughter, featuring a tropical island paradise, a not-so-fake relationship, bisexual awakening, a sassy dog, and happy endings. Buy now if you need a vacation!

Ben and Evan
This was my first story by Ana Byrde and I was very excited about Ben and Evan. " Fake the Date” is an absolute feel-good story about a family chaos when Ben brings his fake boy friend to his sister’s wedding. Much to her mother’s disapproval. I liked the humorous writing style of the author very much. Ben is absolutely charming and it was great to see how he develops throughout the book. He blushes so sweet, too. I have also taken Evan into my heart and he is a perfect match for Ben, even if it takes a while for them to see it that way. I would have liked to have shaken the bitchy mother properly. What a family! The book is humorous and the characters are absolutely adorable.I found the dog Toto totally adorable, as well as the quirky Aunt Rosy and the sassy sister.
John Solo did a great job. His narration is really well done with all the different voices. He brought the characters to life. I love this audiobook.
Highly recommend!

"I want to be the reason you look down...
"at your phone and smile... then walk into a pole". ~Unknown~
That quote makes me giggle just like this story and truthfully Ben almost would have walked into a pole if it wasn't for his pup lol. It really is tooth aching sweet and there really isn't much angst at all. However, there is drama and it's mainly due to the inner monologs of both characters. Ben is a super shy kind of nerd whereas Evan is a workout buff with loads of confidence. I did enjoy the fact that the author never once had Evan come off as rude or mean no matter what situation they ended up in. I overall enjoyed the book but it's not one of my favorites. So even though this one is cute it won't be on my list of re-reads unless I need a serious sugar rush. ☆

Great Fake Boyfriend Story!
Fake the Date is the first book I’ve read by Ana Byrde and I really liked the story a lot. The fake boyfriend trope is one I really enjoy and she did a great job with this one.
John Solo’s excellent performance of the story had me hanging on every word and I listened to it straight through once I started it.
This may be my first book by Ana Byrde but it won’t be my last.

So sweet...
This book was a very special treat for me, first the author is Ana Byrde, and she is part of my favorite authors' duo so this book was a must read for me, second, the narrator is John Solo, one of the best voice actors in the genre and one of my favorites narrators ever and third the story is simply amazing. Ms byrde showed us her brilliancy creating a very sweet and cute love story about Ben and Evan that went from friends to lovers in an entertaining plot about fake boyfriends. I loved the interesting plot in which I witnessed how Ben with Evan's support, found the strength to confront his family regaining the future and love that anyone deserves. The characters, so wonderful and endearing, were perfectly brought to life by Mr Solo in another unique performance that kept me enthralled as any other of his narrations. A perfect way to read and re read this marvelous love story.

A sweet, fluffy feel good romance!
When Ben's sister suggests he bring is hot as sin straight roommate as his date to her wedding, he is both shocked and intrigued.
But when Evan quickly agrees to the preposterous idea, he has to all but go with it.
Can two men fight the pull of the attraction between them and survive the wedding without getting hearts involved?
This was a sweet opposites attract, friends to lovers romance. I liked that there was instant attraction and chemistry between Ben and Evan.
The characters were likeable, engaging and enjoyable. The writing style appealed to me and I like the setting of the story.
John Solo's audio delivery and narration was absolutely brilliant!
If you like a sweet romance with lots of fun and laughter, little to no angst and a steamy bisexual awakening I would absolutely recommend this.

Fake The Date
Fake The Date
Author: Ana Byrde, Narator: John Sole
This is a sweet MM RomCom between a man who talks his straight roommate into pretending he is his boyfriend to make his mother stop trying to set him up with women. He is headed to his sisters wedding, for a fourday stay on an island, with only family in attendance.
This story was smooth and refreshing. The characters were well thought out and it was easy to figure out who was who, alot of the time by just the way someone talked or acted. The buried treasure was a nice touch, as was the walking on hot coals.
The only thing I didn’t like about this book is there was not more of it.
Applause to John Solo for his narration. He brought out each character artfully though his voices and acting ability.

#Lovedit!
OMG...from beginning to end this was fun. Ben and Evan were great and I just loved their story. So many great moments...HOT moments. Normally it's hard for me to believe that all of sudden you're gay when you have been straight all your life but with Evan...I felt like he had real emotions for Ben and he genuinely cared for him...so sweet. Too bad both guys had godawful parents but that didn't take away from the goodness of the story.
What can I say about John Solo? He did a FANTASTIC job with this story. His narration kept me entertained...he brought a lot to the story...he is the reason why people love audibles...great job!
This is a first for me from this author and I can't wait to read/listen more of her books.

I've read/listened to a good many fake relationship trope stories, and this stands out as one of my favorites in audio. Narrator John Solo delivers a fantastic performance, hitting all the right notes with emotions ranging from funny and embarrassing to tender and heartfelt. His narration enhanced my enjoyment of an already good story.
As Ben and his crush and straight roommate Evan pretend to be boyfriends at Ben's sister's island getaway wedding, the two unexpectedly embark on a week of steamy self-exploration and deepening feelings. Throw in a treasure hunt and adorable dog, and it'd be paradise if not for Ben's homophobic relatives. Ben and Evan are so thoughtful, loving and supportive of one another, and Ben is such a sweetheart that his finally standing up to his mother rather than stay financially beholden to his parents is cheer-worthy.
