Summary
When the seas of love grow choppy, sometimes the best course is to abandon ship!
Two years ago, Ryan Abernathy was too tongue-tied, too introverted, and entirely too nervous to flirt with his hot but presumably straight new roommate. So when Ryan’s sister swooped in and scooped the hottie up for herself, he accepted his fate and kept his crush a secret.
Sawyer Muller never meant to find himself in a fake relationship with his sexy roommate's sister. And how was he supposed to know that Ryan would become his bestie and star in way too many of his dreams?
Things get complicated when Julia Abernathy strikes a deal with Sawyer to upgrade from fake boyfriend to groom, though they only need to stay married long enough for her to get her trust fund. They plan a fun cruise ship wedding with her entire family in tow. Sawyer figures it sounds like an adventure, and when they quietly divorce later, he’ll finally be free of all the pretense.
With Julia and Ryan’s homophobic, snooty family present, the pressure is turned up...especially when Sawyer finds himself jilted at the altar and drowning in a sea of blame from her family. His only life preserver is the Abernathy sibling he can’t admit to wanting...Ryan.
Note: This full-length m/m romantic comedy will keep you in stitches. Watch out for an awkward first kiss, a record-making group wedding, and sexy competitive shuffleboard. Before you board this ship, make sure you pack a fan because things are about to heat up on board this vessel!

Abandon ship??? Never for Susi and Michael.
When Sawyer Muller met Ryan Abernathy he ended up with his head showered down Ryan's toilet. Ewwww! But he moved in with Ryan at college and they became best friends. Ryan has always had the hots for Sawyer but his sister Julia signs him up for fake boyfriend duties, so Rryan backs off.
After college Julia decides she needs to get married to get her trust fund. So she offers Sawyer £50,000 from her trust to marry her for 6 months. Sawyer thinks ok, it's not that long and it will pay his student loans.
Julia organises the wedding on a cruise ship that is marrying lots of other couples too.
Fun and mayhem ensues aboard. Enter one homophobic father of the bride and a whole set of colorful relatives.
As ever Michael Pauley brings to life Susan Hawke's words
He voices Ryan and Sawyer perfectly

Room mates to lovers?
Michael Pauley is undoubtedly my favourite narrator and I love the Valentines Inc Cruise series. Susan Hawke is new to the line up, but I love her writing style from her other series. This tale of two guys who are room mates first and then Sawyer ends up fake dating Ryan's sister, unbeknownst to him as he thinks they're really together. This Cruise is fo the wedding so they are thrown together with Ryan's horrendous parents. This story is full of humour and fun and scheming. Highly recommended for all lovers of Contemporary MM romance.

Another miss for me from this audio pairing
I think this is supposed to be comedy, but I found it annoying rather than funny. The slapstick stumbling that made up Saywer was irritating especially when it happened during sex. They dropped stupid statements in the conversation that were either ridiculous or inappropriate and had some reoccuring statements that annoyed me no end, am I right? (that was the worse one). The side characters were horrible including the sister. There was no chemistry between the MCs to base the subsequent relationship on.
Susan Hawke's quality of work varies so much from book to book that I have to wonder if she is ghost written. If she isn't then maybe she should take a bit more time over each release.
I know Michael Pauley is a much loved narrator in the genre but I hated his over the top performance in this one. The characters are always laughing and chuckling and he adds every single one into the performance.
Honestly I don't know what over people were listening to.

Fun with puns!
A standalone in a series of stories all tied to the same cruise line.
As usual, Susie Hawke has written a delightful, fun and sweet story with a fake boyfriend (to the sister), friends to lover trope and a few hijinks :) The story is not all fun and games - Sawyer started out somewhat, let's say weak, but when he had to, he stood up for himself against his fake GF and her family.
Michael Pauley does a great job (as always) with characterising the voices for each person, along with his knack for letting the emotions of the characters shine through his performance. A great way to experience the story!

Perfect MM Romcom!
This is a fantastic MM romance comedy! There is humor, romance, very funny scenes (running into Aunt Agnes as well as the balcony sex scene), figuring out what matters in your life, and telling your homophobic family to kiss your you know what. I absolutely loved it, and I will listen to it again and again.
Michael Pauley's narration really makes this audiobook! He hits all the emotions perfectly and really brings the funny scenes and conversations to life. The pleasure of this audiobook is 50% the story and 50% Pauley!
I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook through the author and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
