Summary

“You’ll always be mine.”

The latest taunt from my stalker reminded me I was nothing more than a possession to my father, to the Reapers, to Archer D’Ath. Even to Kody and Steele. Princess Danvers - the prize.

His wife.

Archer D’Ath’s wife.

I hate them. They lied to me. Over and over again. I knew they were lying, and I hate myself for letting it happen. For believing in the fake relationships I want so desperately to be real.

Fake. It’s all f--king fake. My stalker won’t let me go. None of them will. Archer and his boys think they control me. My stalker wants to possess me. I’m not an idiot, I know my newest allies are using me, too.

That’s fine. I’ll use all of them. I’ll use them to take back what’s mine. My life. My freedom. My name.

No one owns Madison Kate Danvers.

Fake is a full-length college/new-adult romance with enemies-to-lovers/love-hate themes. This is a reverse-harem novel, meaning the main character has more than one love interest. This is book three of four in the series.

Not sure

As much as I enjoyed this, and I did, I put it down once and didn't pick it up again for weeks. And I feel like this totally could have been a trilogy because not much happens to move the overall plot forward. I'm still crazy about these characters and can't wait to see what explosive ending Kate will be.

One of the best duet narrations

Honestly, the narrators bring these characters to a whole new level of fire and I am so jealous of MK right now. Well done, well done, well done Tate James and the narrators. I need to go and have a minute to sort myself out after that ending… 100% recommend this!!

Book 3 🔥❤️ Action-packed with some steam

Wow! I can’t put this story down, I’m literally sitting on the edge of my seat. I love the hot and steamy chemistry between the three guys and MK. There is so much action, there’s never a dull moment. I'm still waiting to see if MK’s father will get his karma. What an ending….. I’m now moving onto book 4

This book gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Completly wow!

I love how you think you know something and Tate just laughs at you and proves you wrong. The world of MK and the boys keep me riveted and I know I will keep coming back again and again...and again!

Odd sound effects

I use random sound effects in this book like mobile phones and police cars but it's not consistent which makes it it really hard to listen to.
great story though

She seems to like bring stripped of her rights

The plot is interesting and kept me hooked on all three books. However, the main character is mistreated from the beginning and is treated like a possesion. My hopes were that she would fight back, but her attempts are half hearted and she keeps convincing herself that the three men's feelings are somehow more valid than hers.
The author tries to paint the main character as a strong woman but aside from verbal comebacks she quite a docile and weak character. Disapointing.

Hey, girls... Here's what NOT to do...

This is a Three-Book Review.
------------
So, here's the thing. You're going to really want to love this story. Like, really, REALLY love it. That sparks a'flyin' book summary you just read tells you that the lead female character is a strong, independent, take-no-prisoners she-wolf who'll bite your hand if you get too close.

Yeah...sigh...not so much.

In actuality, this story is about a woman who's ONLY positive attribute is her "smokin' hotness". Seriously. She can barely put 2 + 2 together. She's kind of a narcissistic, horrible person. But she finds herself the object of numerous powerful men's desires LITERALLY only because of what she looks like. Not kidding, absolutely no other redeeming qualities that would qualify it. Which tells younger women reading this that (a) you can forget all your problems by just taking your clothes off and hoping the dude has a condom, and (b) if you're not "f'kin' beautiful", you don't deserve deep, obsessive love. Way to go, Tate James!

And she relies on her body continually to stop her from having to form a complete thought, or remember that she should probably grab some pride from somewhere and kick various people to the curb.

The aforementioned men in her life quite literally destroy her world several times over, and continue to lie, demean, and berate her without caution. The writer gives her a very narrow curse words vocabulary, so she hurls the same lame clapbacks at them, then resolves the whole thing by telling them to pull their pants down.

So, why then, did I read all 3 books? Three reasons...

1. Love the story or hate it, I found myself yelling at my kindle and the writer's continual use of the same phrases, same tone, same everything. I had to put the story down many times because I just couldn't anymore with the LFC. And isn't that the true measure of good art? If an artist's work can get you to think about it, discuss it, even argue about it, long after you've finished reading it, then the artist has done his/her job. I can't argue with that.

2. I kept expecting the writer's promise about the LFC's strength to come to fruition at some point. Every time the male characters would do something horrendous, I thought, "Mmm'kay, here we go. FINALLY, she's going to get a backbone, kick them out, and be done with them." Sadly, it didn't happen. Just more of the same. Here's how each development went:

LFC: "Are you SERIOUS? You f*king destroyed my life. AGAIN!........You're an a-hole. I'm storming out...........Huh? Well, okay. Got any condoms...?"

3. The series was free with my membership. :)

About the narration, Brooke Daniels did great. There's a random clicking noise in the background several times per chapter. Sort of like when a dog's nails click on a hardwood floor? There are also random car horns, like in Ch 23 of Book 2. You probably won't notice without headphones. As far as Lucas Webley's narration, I previously wrote a pretty scathing review for him...can't remember the book, but he's very much improved and does a great job keeping each male character's voice their own.

I am so tired of writers creating women this way. Where are all the strong, independent (but not whiny or mean) female lead characters who look like us, act like us, ARE us!? They can't all be buxom, blonde-haired, VIOLET-eyed, dingbat pushovers, can they?

WTF?!

What a pathetic air head! Has NO SELF RESPECT OR SELF WORTH. Just a walking sex toy. Letting 2 LOSERS USE HER FOR SEX , while the 3rd buys her like she’s cattle. And yet she keeps going back for more. Not sure why she acts all pissy, when she chooses to keep going back for more. All she’d missing is a dog collar. She deserves it all!

Liked the storyline, not the lead

MK is a petulant brat, so I’m glad the male leads were likable. Her constant outbursts and tantrums made this series hard to finish.

Warning Book 4 “Kate” not in Audible -cliffhanger

I just hate this I have invested hours of listing to get to the end of book 3 to have a Major Cliffhanger. I have very bad eyes and can’t read much. So I get audio books. This just pisses me off to know end I spent lots of money on books here the least Audible can do is give us the choice to buy the book or a free listen. I would have bought it!

Cliffhanger

This series is really good. The characters are sexy, smart, stubborn, and lovable, in a gangster sort of way. Lucas Webley is my new favorite narrator-super sexy voice! But it’s so disappointing that after 3 books are completed, and left as a cliffhanger, book 4 is not available.
