Once a loyal son of the Emperor's Children, Fabius Bile now loathes those he once called brother. But when a former comrade requests his aid on a mission he cannot refuse, Bile is drawn once more into the sinister machinations of his former Legion.

One of the best in the Black Library archive

In the WH40k universe, there are truly very few characters that honestly toe the line well between objective good and evil. Fabius Bile breaks that mould. He's full of nuance, and has really given me a view into the Emperor's Children beyond the horrors I normally see them as. With the as always fantastic naration by John Banks, and the excellent writing of Josh Reynolds, it's a recipe for one of the best books in the 40k franchise.

Now give me a moment while I invest in some Apothecary models for my new Apothecarium kill team...

Best 40k book I've heard

This book is just amazing. The narrators depiction of the harlequins is so funny I laugh out loud everytime they appear.

Josh Reynolds at his best

An awesome story with a tragic end. Josh Reynolds is one of my favourite Black Library authors but unfortunately he seems to be very underrated.
This book along with the first are well written and the character of Fabius has gone from being a mad scientist doing crazy experiments because it amused him to someone who is actually fighting to save humanity in his clinical way.
Easily as good as the Black Legion series by Aaron Dembski Bowden but it doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
John Banks was a very good narrator. Some voices were better than others but overall I thought he was brilliant.

Great performance good story

it was a good story the only reason it got less than 5 stars is because i wanted it to end differently.
