Hockey romance and 2nd chance lovers! LOVE!!
“I’d missed her in a way I couldn’t explain. Like I’d spent the past decade searching for something I couldn’t find. Because I’d already found it. And nothing ever compared after.”
Still swooning over Hawk Madden in this book! Sweet, lovable, hot and a hockey player? Yes please! He even had me melting over the nicknames he used for his childhood love, Everly as he called her “Ever” and “Ever mine.” How adorable is that! This book is a 2nd chance lovers story with a mix of forced proximity which was so delightful, sexy and satisfying! Hawk Madden and Everly Thomas both grew up together in Honey Mountain and dated all through high school. After graduating, Hawk got drafted to play hockey professionally while Everly was off to NYU, so she broke it off and ended things with him. Now, 9 years later, Hawk is having trouble on the ice and is sent back to Honey Mountain for 8 weeks to work with Everly who happens to be a sports psychologist. How will things go working together after their history? What happens when time expires? I loved this unique storyline of the woman being the one to break it off and the guy still being in love with her. It made the storyline so unique and interesting because it was unexpected. This book is another brilliant story in the Honey Mountain series as Everly and Hawk’s journey is both touching and beautiful!
I LOVED that Laura Pavlov once again used Sarah McEwan and James Gloucester to continue narrating this series! I fell in love with their voices in the audio for Always Mine and they continued to do a phenomenal job performing this book as well! It is so satisfying to hear the same voices narrate siblings in a series as it helps to connect to the story even more! This series will now become an easy relisten for me thanks to this consistency of incredible narrators!
