OMFG!!!
This book is amazing Tom and Gi have surpassed my expectation of what to expect from Eve of Man and I have listened to the whole thing in one day!! The characters are relatable, loveable and dislikeable in all the right places. The description of the world in which Eve is living in is so detailed and intricate I was right there with her!! So many twists and turns I was hooked from get go right to very last word!!! I CANNOT wait for book 2! In fact I’m off to start this all over again thank you mr & mrs Fletcher xxx

Terrific Narrators, Slightly disappointing Story
I initially found the premise of this book intriguing, but sadly the characterisation and world-building did not match-up to my expectations. For a duo authorship, there were very little differences in the writing styles for the different characters - although Eve's chapter's had a psychological darker portrayal, whereas Bram's were more visually action packed which made little sense. Eve was by far the strongest narrator and her character made the most sense in terms of how she was raised and her destined role within this corrupted society. Bram's character really was a disappointment and I honestly found his storyline confusing - especially when he is given such power and respect from a group who barely know him - which leads to my point that the hierarchy and political tensions were rather underdeveloped.
This book could have really explored the fluidity of gender and sexuality between men and women in a segregated society and there were even hints of this, but it became clear that nearly all the male and female characters were portrayed within stereotypical roles.
Another aspect of this book I found inconsistent was the maturity - there were times where the book would go into darker themes, but then others where the story became almost juvenile. For a YA sci-fi novel, this really fell flat in terms of storytelling and I'm more disappointing because it had a lot of potential. One of the aspects I did enjoy was the narration of Charlotte Ritchie and Josh Dylan within this audio book, both actors gave terrific performances throughout.

Cliffhanger
Amazing book. Really loved it. But, be warned it ends on a cliffhanger (almost literally!)

Monotone!!
The readers voice is awful - gutted, as the story sounded great. Definitely one to read, rather than listen too

Predictable.
Writing is so descriptive of feelings that it borders on being cringy at times. The storytelling is quite basic; details that would help set the scene are missing, so the world created by the book is very one-dimensional. The characters are either Good or Bad, which makes for zero character development.
A dystopian novel that takes on such huge issues should strive for more.

Never have I been more disappointed by an ending
Halfway through this book I was pleasantly surprised - the prose is a bit basic - it's not the best written book! This put me off a bit initially, but I was quickly won over by the storyline which, despite feeling a little like a mish-mash of some other high profile successful dystopian storylines, was still intriguing and relatively entertaining. The ending is such a let down though!! It feels needlessly cut short to justify the next in its 'series' - and I fear that has left me unsatisfied enough to not bother with the next one.

An Overall Average Listen.
An enjoyable but forgettable book, well read but overall let down by the story itself. In comparison to other books in its genre, the characters are less memorable than would be preferred, and the subject matter is at times uncomfortable, but not compelling enough to be worthwhile.
