Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
The gloriously romantic debut about fame, friendship, and falling in love, from the best-selling author of Some Kind of Wonderful, and Happy Mum, Happy Baby.
Sophie May has a secret.
One that she's successfully kept for years. It's meant that she's had to give up her dreams of going to university and travelling the world to stay in her little village, living with her mum and working in the local teashop.
But then she meets the gorgeous Billy - an actor with ambitions to make it to the top. And when they fall in love, Sophie is whisked away from the comfort of her life into Billy's glamorous - but ruthless - world.
Their relationship throws Sophie right into the spotlight after years of shying away from attention. Can she handle the constant scrutiny that comes with being with Billy? And most of all, is she ready for her secret heartbreak to be discovered and shared with the nation?
Charming, heart-warming, and utterly romantic, Billy and Me, is an unforgettable story that will completely capture your heart.

Too sickly
Umm, glad I didn't pay full price for this as it was a daily deal. The story whilst implausible is ok and let's face it this is meant to be a bit of fluffy romance. However, as the story progresses the central character becomes less likeable, self centred and at times not just annoying but nauseating. Ok so she had a tough event happen in child hood but really?

Disappointing
Whilst I was only looking for some light hearted chick lit this was still disappointing. Both the narration and the story fall short. Far too much introspection and a main character that by the end I genuinely disliked and found irritating. I would not recommend.

Vacuous nonsense
I was about to give a scathing review of a vacuous and unbelievable novel but despite toe curling narration and a nauseating performance, the story line is actually quite refreshing. It's ultimately a love story; the two main characters fall in love, are in love and remain in love - the rocky bits happen around them. This is the only realistic bit about it - a relatively normal relationship. This was the only unpredictable bit about the book. However this doesn't save it. The main character is self centred, spoilt and the other wet characters pander to her contInuously. Easy reading, chic-lit is a great genre but this adds nothing to the field - the sickly sweetness is far, far too much.

Cute story ruined by main character
This is a nice, light romantic tale that is gradually ruined by the main character becoming increasingly unreasonable, pathetic, self indulgent and irrational, while for some reason all of the other characters in the book seem to think she's wonderful, and humour and condone her childish behaviour. The fact that she didn't see fit to apologise to her long-suffering boyfriend in the final scene after behaving like a spoiled brat for months had me gritting my teeth in annoyance.

Don’t waste you life reading this
Awful cheesy with zero story line. The main character is a poor excuse for a woman - needy, self centred and pretty pathetic. The narrator sounds like something from a children’s tv programme. All in all a dreadful waste of my time listening to it
