Story
Starseer, pilot, and animal lover Jelena Marchenko wants to prove to her parents that she's ready to captain her own freighter and help run the family business. When she finally talks them into getting a second ship and letting her fly it, it doesn't faze her that the craft is decades old and looks like a turtle. This is the chance she's craved for years. But it's not long before the opportunity to rescue mistreated lab animals lures her from her parentally approved cargo run and embroils her in a battle between warring corporations.

Story
An enforcer wanted dead for crimes she didn’t commit.... An assassin wanted dead for crimes he did commit.... Normally, they would be enemies, but they both seek the same thing: exoneration. Unfortunately, a nefarious underground organization is attempting to kill the one man who could grant it to them - the emperor. If they want to win their freedom, they’ll have to battle powerful wizards, outscheme master schemers, and defeat bloodthirsty monsters, all while dodging friendly fire and evading the law. Exoneration isn’t easy.

After helping my steady dragon Zav with his family problems, I thought life would get back to normal. As normal as it can be when you’re a hit woman responsible for hunting down bad guys. That was before a strange artifact showed up in a bog and turned my ancient dwarven sword into a magical beacon. Now, my enemies can sense it from hundreds of miles away. Usually, fighting off opportunists wouldn’t be a problem (they don’t call me Ruin Bringer without reason), but even I can only handle so many attacks at a time.

Summary
Alisa Marchenko has reunited with her daughter, and even though she hasn't figured out how to get Jelena to accept Leonidas yet, she dreams of the three of them starting a new life together. They can return the Star Nomad to its original purpose of running freight and staying out of trouble (mostly).
Before that can happen, Alisa must fulfill the promise she made to Jelena: that she and her crew will retrieve young Prince Thorian, the boy who has become Jelena's best friend. But Thorian was kidnapped by the rogue Starseer Tymoteusz, the man who wants to use the Staff of Lore to take over the entire system - and the man who may have the power to do it. Alisa doesn't know why he kidnapped Thorian, but Tymoteusz once promised to kill the prince, so she fears they don't have much time.
Unfortunately, Tymoteusz hasn't left a trail of breadcrumbs. Finding him will be difficult, and even if they're successful, facing him could be suicidal. To have a chance of surviving, Alisa will have to come up with her greatest scheme yet.

Lindsay Buroker has just given up science fiction and switch to cyborg erotica. The last two books have spent more time on the love/sex story then anything else. I’ve completely lost interest in these books.

Love, love, love
Recommend starting with the first book in the series. Total escapism, with good character development and lots of action. It's part space opera and part fantasy and has so many great characters.
While not necessarily sophisticated prose, the books are well written. I love escapist fiction but hate when it is poorly written - the author writes very well.
Love the humorous dialog and actually laughed out loud a few times. There is even a little romance thrown in. Highly recommend the entire series!

Lindsay Buroker’s series was action packed and creatively presented. Her characters experienced times of trial, worry, love and plotting. It was difficult to stop the (audio) book. I found myself making every effort to get back to the series, every book! Lindsay wrapped up the series without leaving questions which I appreciate. This series is well worth the read!

Satisfying Ending despite at times sounding like..
Rated R for graphic violence and sex
Satisfying ending to a solid space travel action comedy story despite at times, particularly the latter books, sounding like a bit of a romance novel with the main two characters always thinking and fawning over each other. The relationship and dynamics did call for a degree of this but it could have been less in your face.
Left wanting to know more about the Starseers abilities, especially the ability to see the future, the full power of the staffs, and travel into parallel universes.
