Summary

She’s a white-picket-fence kind of girl, but I only do casual. My first mistake? Asking her to be my roommate.

Gabe

When someone’s down on their luck, I like to help out. Diane needed a place to stay, and my attic was empty. How hard could it be to have a temporary roommate?

It turns out—very hard.

Living with her is turning out to be physically impossible. Every time she saunters through the living room, I can’t help but want her. Whenever she gives me sass, I fantasize about kissing that mouth until she begs for more.

But she is my employee’s sister and that is a line I can’t cross…or can I?

Diane

At first I was a little leery about accepting Gabe’s offer, because he’s my sister’s boss. But Gabe is the best. He’s not only generous and fun (and hot!), but also considerate.

One night after dinner in the city he does the gentlemanly thing and walks me to my door — only, I manage to stumble, rip my dress and flash him my various lady parts.

It’s a full-on disaster! Or so I think.

The man gives me the hottest kiss of my life— toe curling, sparks-flying, panty-melting hot. Even though I’ve just been through the break-up from hell, I can’t resist his charms.

But I don’t want to embarrass my sister by getting involved with Gabe. Besides, he and I want different things in life.

Love the Whitley Brothers

Gabe and Diane when they meet it’s an instant attraction. Diane is just off a break up with a long term boyfriend and had to move in with her sister Celia whom is an employee of Gabe's. Needing a place of her own to live Gabe offers her a room in a place he is renting. Sparks fly between these two instantly ands to only a matter of when it’s official but Diane think’s she is taking advantage and does not want to be a burden. Will Diane’s issues lead to a not happily ever after. Loved Grandma and Grandpa Whitley they are the best epically Grandma with her matchmaking which has been successful. Love this series and the dynamic between the brothers. Love the narration as well. Looking forward to listening the next installment in this series.

cute and sweet

The narrators do a fantastic job in the performance of this novel and provide a good example of how a dual narration should be done.
The story of Gabe and Diane is sweet. There is instant attraction and both are wary of acting on it and this leads to lots of awkward moments when they are in close proximity to each other. This is heightened even more when they decide to share a living space. There isn't a lot of plot other than this but it was fun to watch the pair develop a relationship, go on dates, spend time with Gabe's family and eventually get their happy ever after.

Gabe & Diane

3.75 stars

I normally love Layla’s books but this one was just alright. There wasn’t a lot of plot, Gabe just kind of fell in love straight away without questioning his feelings much for someone that never had a relationship but the smexy scenes were very good and I always love Layla’s big families books. Sebastian York and Emma Wilder were fantastic as Gabe and Diane.
