Summary

A lonely planet circles a star on the very border of Province 921. Critical resources produced there are claimed by both the Mogwa and the Skay. War between the Galactic giants becomes more likely every day.

James McGill and Legion Varus are deployed to protect Edge World, a planet that rotates at a walking pace. Each day is as long as a year back on Earth. The sun-side of the world is baked with endless sunshine, the night-side is freezing and full of strange creatures. Living in an inhabitable zone on the edge of their world, a shadow-line between night and day, nomadic peoples roam the planet. It is these inhabitants Earth’s forces must protect.

Three fleets converge: the Mogwa, the Skay, and Earth’s growing armada. Peace talks are held, but then McGill opens his big mouth, and things go badly....

Another epic tale.

What can I say, B. V. Larson does it again with another epic McGill adventure, of course it would be nothing without the performance of the amazing Mark Boyett, his performances of the characters are outstanding as always and such a vital part of the audiobook.

Sad beginning. Got as far as Chapter 8.

Felt bad for the hog at the beginning. 1 stars apart from Mark Boyett's performance. He gets a 5.

"MCGILL" !!

Another gripping tale of galactic wow.. James and Varus take on edge world. Gripping from beginning to end. Brilliantly narrated by Mark Boyett. Desperately hope there's more to come.

Dear Mark Boyett - stop the accent

The book is the same as the other stories. I still got about five hours to go but I am not rushing it. I won’t stop listening to the series, but as other mentioned, it gets stale.

The one thing that makes me cringe is Mark trying to speak in a British accent. I am not native English but live here for over ten years and that makes my ears hurt.

I’d prefer him to mention he is British, but keep it to a no accent voice. Make up an accent for any alien but not that please …. That almost made me stop listening as the through the nose squeaky voice gets on my nerve :).

No offence.

Another good installment

Another good installment by Larson and Boyett, many series would be quite tired by now but Larson keeps things moving along at a pace that keeps you invested and more importantly interested in the story. for my personal view I would like to hear a little more on earths progress as a power in the galaxy and see McGill progress a bit further in his career and privy to a bit more of the earths future plans.

that aside its still a good listen and well performed.
