Summary

Bastard by birth. Bastard by nature.

Convicted for a murder he did not commit, Talum d'Argento du'Pleisse is exiled to the World Below, the endless labyrinth of monster-filled catacombs that lies beneath the human kingdoms.

Talum finds himself thrown into the death pits of the dark elves, sentenced to fight till he dies. If he wants to return to the surface and get revenge on the woman who set him up, he will need to train, fight, and survive.

He has three weeks to prepare. Three weeks of grueling physical combat against the proud champion, Marleena. Three weeks of secret Tantric cultivation rituals with the bewitching priestess, Priscilla.

But if Talum can't defeat the Five Champions, he'll never get a chance to take revenge on the surface world and the scheming shrew who condemned him to death.

Dungeon Scumbag is a pulp fantasy men's adventure featuring unconventional romance with multiple women, pulse-pounding action, seductive dark elves, and proud albino warrior women.

A must-listen for fans of classic sword and sorcery, low fantasy, and scheming bastard protagonists.

great fun, brilliantly narrated

a great story of a cast out rogue noble begining his climb from slave to champion. the characters are fun and well acted, the world building is great.

really looking forward to book 2 where hopefully we see them move from the more narrow gladiator plot towards the wider political war... and for Talum to find his brother's killer.

Action and fantasy!!👌👌

First thing first, double narration so straight away that's a plus, progression and fighting were well done and the MC can be a bit annoying at some points but it was a good start to the series 👍 .

Not worth the money or credit.

I regret spending the credit to get this book. The flow of the story is a mess. It comes off as a series of disconnected thoughts.

it is what it says it is

my only problem is the Mc has so much bravado with no reason to believe he can as he basically gets his ass kicked for most of the book and then suddenly he's badass enough to beat the best last bit at the end of the funny as hell

Great twist!

This books take on the “dual cultivation” was honestly new! I haven’t seen a description of the different ways it could enhance the user like was described in this book. I particularly liked how the scenes didn’t become repetitive, and the protagonist, while going through growth, didn’t have his core nature changed along with his views on the world. I would recommend this book to everyone!

entertaining

a different twist on wuxia cultivating. there are some sex scenes that don't ftb but not to many as to overpower the book. the MC doesn't start out op but it's competent. his powers grow over time that makes him more skilled that starting. the amount of coverage and explanation about the back story coupled with the way the first book ends will have you looking forward to the next book in the series. the narrator's do a fantastic job in the audible version with all of the different voices and accents. all in all I recommend this title you won't be disappointed

I liked the idea

The writing is garbo and the voice acting was just ok. I stopped listening after 3 hours.

Great start for a scumbag

Overall I thought this was a great start to this series and I'm definitely looking forward to future volumes.

MC isn't over powered, he's just overly high on himself. While he is beaten down and humbled he does have to fight to gain respect and everything he earns. Over all I think its a well developed story with much more to provide to listeners in future books.

I think the narrators did a fantastic job and are a perfect fit for this story.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the genre and stories like this one.
