Summary

Jane Yellowrock is a shapeshifting skinwalker you don’t want to cross - especially if you’re one of the undead....

For a vampire killer like Jane, having Leo Pellisier as a boss took some getting used to. But now, someone is out to take his place as Master Vampire of the city of New Orleans, and is not afraid to go through Jane to do it. After an attack that’s tantamount to a war declaration, Leo knows his rival is both powerful and vicious, but Leo’s not about to run scared. After all, he has Jane. But then, a plague strikes, one that takes down vampires and makes their masters easy prey.

Now, to uncover the identity of the vamp who wants Leo’s territory, and to find the cause of the vamp-plague, Jane will have to go to extremes...and maybe even to war.

Faith Hunter does it again

This is the fifth book in the Jane Yellowrock series and the series just keeps getting better. Right up until the last few minutes I am waiting for another twist and I wasnt disappointed! Ms Hunters characters are changing and evolving with everything that is going on, relationships change and new characters are introduced. The story line is gripping and there is a rollercoaster of emotion throughout this book. With the current trend in series of books rather than one offs, this series stands out - getting more exciting and involved as it progresses - cannot wait for the next one which is hopefully out in April.

Mixed feelings

Jane Yellowrock returns in another action packed adventure. As always khristina Hvam does an excellent job as narrator givng an intense flavour to the characters and the setting but I am not so sure about parts of the plot. I miss Molly, Leo gets off the hook way too easily for his treatment of Jane and there's just too much angst in the last couple of books about jane's inner conflict over everything from religion, to love to friendship. But the series continues to hold my attention and throws in new characters like Jane's new crew who have the potential to shake things up in the next book maybe

Story's getting better

This series just gets better and better and although I found the narrator a little difficult to get along with in book one she gets better as the series goes on.

I can't believe she didn't see it coming..

Now this might have spoilers be warned.

I love this series Jane is cool and has a skillset to be really envious of but really what did she expect working with vamps that she could get away with all her attitude and not have Leo do anything in return.? Also just get on bruiser already. Lol. I love how this author leaves you immediately wanting the next book! Please keep writing Jane and all the other characters for years to come!

Death's Rival

If you could sum up Death's Rival in three words, what would they be?

Exciting, breath taking

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jane/ Big cat, she constantly but her self on the line for others. even though she thought she was just a killer! She only killed them who were bad.

What about Khristine Hvam’s performance did you like?

The passion she put into the book, and the voices she connected to each character it helped me. The narrator can make or break a book and she is amazing.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me cry, gasp, my heart raced and me wanting more.

Any additional comments?

Just down loaded last book and cant wait to start it.

engaging, well executed but with technical errors

as long as you can forgive the occasional error (eg one of the characters giving an adversary "both barrels" of a benelli m4 shotgun... which has 1 barrel... it's another well read book in the Jane Yellowrock franchise
