In the dark corners of the Mortal Realms, the mad and mysterious Gloomspite Gitz go to war, following the trail of their abominable lunar deity. Nowhere is beyond the sight of the Bad Moon—not even those places under Sigmar’s protection, like the sweltering city of Draconium. Beneath the scalding rains of Aqshy, the city is a boiling pot of tension, its regent praying to Sigmar for guidance while Watch Captain Helena Morthan douses the fires of anarchy: blades drawn in the streets, heretical doomsayers preaching the end of days, and insects eating watchmen alive.

It is said that all who live belong ultimately to the Undying King. In the shadowy lands of Shyish, Nagash, God of Death, calls forth his soulless legions to reassert his dominion. His dread advance begins with the free city of Glymmsforge, bastion of Azyr in the Realm of Death. Standing between Nagash and his prize are the brooding Anvils of the Heldenhammer, an ancient host of Stormcast Eternals, and Lord-Castellant Pharus Thaum, guardian of the Ten Thousand Tombs. As battles between the living and the dead rage throughout the Mortal Realms, the War of Heaven and Death begins anew.

Summary
Gotrek and Felix audiobook three.
An encounter with an old friend of Gotrek's leads the Slayer and his human companion north into the Chaos Wastes. There they will face their greatest adventure yet and the most fearsome foe they can imagine.
Listen to it because: this is the book that brings in loads of the elements of classic Gotrek and Felix - Snorri Nosebiter, Malakai Makaisson, Ulrika Magdova and Max Schrieber all make their first appearances. Plus it's a cracking tale in its own right, with a truly epic conclusion.
The story: Gotrek and Felix: unsung heroes of the Empire, or nothing more than common thieves and murderers? The truth perhaps lies somewhere in between and depends entirely upon whom you ask....
Gotrek and Felix join an expedition northwards in search of the long-lost dwarf hold of Karag Dum. Setting forth for the hideous Realms of Chaos in an experimental dwarf airship captained by an insane Slayer-Engineer, the heroic pair is sworn to recover the ancient treasures or die in the attempt. But darkness awaits them in Karag Dum, along with the greatest battle of Gotrek's life....
Written by William King. Narrated by Jonathan Keeble.

I absolutely love the old world warhammer lore, wish they'd do more audiobooks for the novels relating to them. This as the other Gotrek and Felix books on audible were amazing, full of adventure, action, comedy, gripping edge of your seat moments and fantastic narrating by the best narrator going! These are a MUST listen for any fantasy lovers.

Classic story for the world that was.
This is the 3rd story in Gotrex and Felix series with the pair venturing into the most dangerous realm in the old world, the chaos wastes. With plenty of axes and swords action with out becoming boring and we first meet some future characters.
The story in top notch a classic from Black library narrated by Jonathan Keeble probably the best Narrater of Black Library audiobooks. Fingers crossed Black library will be doing some more old world novels like the Thanqoul novels.

Awesome adventure to the edges of Hell
The engineer Malakai is one of the funniest characters in this series. The airship is so cool when combined into a low fantasy setting. The epic journey to the Chaos waste is described in an absurd and intriguing way that highlights the horrors of the waste. And the epic showdown with the Bloodthirster is as exciting as Gandalfs showdown with the Balrog in LotR
