Really enjoyed this book series

I enjoyed this series, TW decided to keep it to 12 books which is a shame as it felt like there was a lot more these storylines could have given us. He doesn’t shy away from the horror of what could happen doesn’t go too far into realms you don’t want to wander into (like the Zombie Fallout series by Tufo) and he wasn't afraid to kill people off when their time was done.

I liked how differently it ended for each group. There was a constant sexist streak (which lost it a star) which is odd as there are stronger female characters 'doing' the action in the story but it seems like all the men think in a very sexist way, I guess the author thinks this is what would happen if there was a zombie apocalypse and maybe it would but as a woman it gets a bit boring hearing this over and over from every male character, that said there is interesting variety in how women are written which makes it all the more disappointing.

FYI typical bad British accents, so nothing new!

I enjoyed the spinoffs too, the 'Dead snapshots' are great, I like the attention to detail (the English one was pretty much on point re: lingo and culture) and I'm enjoying the new Dead series.

Ahh! no not like that.

What did you like best about DEAD: End? What did you like least?

Really didn`t see that end coming. But there I go putting my expectations on the writer.

What will your next listen be?

Something else.

Have you listened to any of Andrew McFerrin’s other performances? How does this one compare?

He is very good at the genre.

Could you see DEAD: End being made into a movie or a TV series? Who would the stars be?

Yes but give young actors a chance to fill the roles. It does start off quite young.

Great Series Early On (Old Spoilers)

Where does DEAD: End rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Overall, loved the series.

Would you be willing to try another book from TW Brown? Why or why not?

Absolutely

Which scene was your favorite?

Didn't really have a favorite in this book.

Any additional comments?

(Old Spoilers) Really enjoyed the series, but I didn't think it ever recovered after Steve's death, then Kevin's death really ended it for me. Just didn't care enough about Talia or Katie to stay as engaged.

The End Continues

Any additional comments?

This is sort of "Dead - the next generation" as main characters from the first books continue to fall to the various maladies of the post-apocalyptic world and younger/newer characters begin to step into the gaps. I enjoyed the continued development of the child zombies as antagonists to both be empathetic for, and to fear. One complaint I have is that all the characters sound as if they speak with the same voice (I think this is the way it is written and not a problem with Andrew McFerrin's narration). Everyone has perfect diction and nobody seems to know how to use contractions. This has been the case throughout the series but its becoming annoying. Mix it up some TW!

The best series I have ever listened to!!

I finished the entire 12 book series in a little under two weeks (could have done it in less than a week but work, my husband and my house kept cutting into my listening time. Lol) I have to say something about all the reviews complaining about all the different characters, I agree it got a little confusing in the first book but by the second book I knew who was who, the narrator did a brilliant job with the different voices and throughout the series I grew to love each and every character, the only problem with that was that the writer did such an amazing job that I felt like I knew the main characters personal which at times brought tears during certain circumstances..Please don't give up reading after the first book, you will soon know who everyone is and I promise it is more than worth it!! I could have listened to another 12 books in the series!!

So sad this is the end

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Although I've thoroughly enjoyed the ride, I'm saddened that this series has come to an end. I sincerely hope that Andrew McFerrin continues to be a narrator. I will also have to look for other series by TW Brown. I loved their partnership on this series!

A gritty ,delishous perspective to the very end.

Where does DEAD: End rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The dead series is easily in my top 3 best zombie series, out of the many dozens I have read.

What other book might you compare DEAD: End to and why?

I would compare it to Jake bibles z-burbia book 6 rocky mountain die.The last book in any zombie fiction series is a unique beast all of there own. Both deliver on what the fight was for. Most books fall flat far before the end, I would happily read Dead books for the rest of my life.

Have you listened to any of Andrew McFerrin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have read 15 of his works and he is a fantastic voice actor, with huge range.

If you could take any character from DEAD: End out to dinner, who would it be and why?

cricket, he sounds like an awesome guy to hang out with. This late in the zombie apocalypse ,genuinely good people are hard to come by.
