Summary

A second chance never looked so good....

Bobbi-Jo Barker has been in love with the wrong man for years - a man who doesn't fit into the perfect, controlled life she's created; a man who broke her heart and nearly destroyed her. So the fact that he's back in town shouldn't matter, because he's all wrong for her, or so she thinks....

Shane Gallagher, prodigal son, ex-con, and all around hellion, has returned to the small town of New Waterford not only to mend fences but to get his life back. What he doesn't count on are the feelings he still has for the one woman who can break him - the one woman who is totally wrong for him.

And yet, as Bobbi and Shane are thrown together and begin to navigate a life with each other in it, neither can deny the attraction they feel or the emotions that come with it - the good and the bad. And so the question becomes: Can these two damaged souls survive a second chance at love?

Completed love, great second chance.

Bobbi-Jo and Shane's shared a strong, complicated love.
Two young people who wasn't sure how to navigate what they were feeling so they made mistakes and hurt each other. After years apart they realise that owning their mistakes and working at making better decisions is the only way forward to great wrll deserved second chance.

🎧 Bobbie and Shane 🎧

Sweet and hot second-chance, small-town romance. I really like how we see tye development of book 1 couple's relationship as an interconnected storyline. Plenty of realistic family situations and emotions.
Third person POV. Great narration from Maxine Mitchell.

Good, but very repetitive

The background story of the couples past is interesting and would be enough to keep the readers attention but there is so much that detracted from the stars rating for me.
The angst is repeated over and over to drag out the suspense, though I found it frustrating not suspenseful. I wanted to skip ahead but I made it through to the end.

The ending was disgusting and absolutely ruined the entire book for me.

Also there is a very dangerous sex scene that I hope a reader is smart enough not to try, especially if they have any medical conditions.

Narration was great

Loved Bobbie's story

This book was touching and showed the heartbreak that these two went through. The book has great supporting characters and is so well written that I could feel the emotions from the words. I highly recommend this book series and now im off to Betty's story.

A predictable mix-up

Well, there's more drama for the triplets here, especially for the featured triplet in the book. I must admit that the first two chapters did not sit well with me. While cold feet may be a legitimate reason, I still find it a selfish gesture considering that the only thing unlikeable about the groom is his luck of spunk. Anyway, I could get over it as this installment made a good companion during my packing and other chores that needed to be done at home, thus the shorter reading time.

I am not going to comment further about how I quickly predicted the conflict and the plot twists, but in a way, this is a compliment because at least it did not leave much room for me to think hard about the entire story. Add in the beautiful narration of Maxine Mitchell; this has been another excellent read from this author. And since there is a book and half left from the series to listen to, I might as well jump into the third one after this.

Similar to the last book

I find that these kinds of stories end up being only a little different from one another, so it's not surprising, but repeating the "I've had a secret for years that I think is unforgivable so I can't tell you even though I almost tell you several times" thing is annoying. It's not interesting, it's not skillful, it's just frustrating.

Book 2

Book 2 in this series. This book was a mf second time romance with the main characters Bobbi-Jo and Shane. I listened to the audio book. Bobbi-Jo walks out on her wedding day to someone else to rekindle an affair with Shane. Life has been hard on both from their first go round as teenagers. Miscommunication and secrets hold up these two from getting together.

Listening just for the voice of the narrator.

I heard one book by this narrator, and was so relieved to find someone with a pleasing voice!!! A narrator can make or break a book, and I have sensitive ears that reacts poorly to gross sounds like spittle popping, heavy breathing, etc. This narrator is literally worth her weight in gold!! Not my normal genre of story, but I would listen to her read the dictionary lol. I love listening to Audible books while working, so between this series being included in the Plus Catalog and the narrator being amazing... it's a perfect combination. 10 out of 10 recommend 😊

Good story, worth a listen…

As part of a series, Collide is worthy of a listen. The first installment was better, and the backstory of those characters added to the current installment’s story to lift it into “average” territory.

I can’t say for certain I’d want to spend a credit on this, but luckily it’s part of the “plus” catalog.

Total personality switch

The triplet sisters in this series are rather awful. They are selfish and bitchy and then dramatically long suffering. In this second book we are supposed to understand that buttoned up Bobbi Jo who has been nothing but controlled, appropriate, and all about appearances, suddenly switches to her original teenage troublemaking rebel self. I get someone getting burned by too much drama choosing to try to calm and control her life. What I don't get is the tequila swigging woman in a wedding dress, and then waking up the next day to think her jilted fiancé will think she just had cold feet. I liked Shane far more than Bobbi-Jo, and found his family story more compelling.
