Summary

The first in a smart, sizzling new contemporary romance series by USA Today best-selling author Mira Lyn Kelly.

Jase Foster is as loyal and committed as a friend can get - when it comes to the guys, that is. But with women he keeps it casual and experiences what one would call a "high turnover rate".

Emily Klein is beautiful and confident...and has mile-long legs that have been strutting in and out of Jase's life since adolescence, leaving a wake of destruction. As they get paired up time after time as the best man and maid of honor in the upcoming nuptials of all of their best friends, Emily and Jase find their mutual resentment simmering just beneath the surface...right alongside their mutual attraction. Committed to maintaining order for their friends' sakes, they keep their personal loathing for each other under wraps...at least so long as they have an audience. But once they're alone...

easy story, great narration

cute story, but very predictable. it started with a storm of names and it's a but too much at the start, but you then get familiar with all of them and it all makes sense. despite this, i still enjoyed it very much. the narration was out of this world. Tad and Seraphine are absolutely brilliant.

Just what I was looking for

Awesome story, I had been looking for something fun and easy, this was it. The narration was perfect. I completely fell for the characters.

Great book

Really liked This book. Perfect mix of love and a little bit of smut. Loved the main characters Jase and Emily, nice easy listen would definitely recommend!

so so

It all feels a bit mundane and tad long, had to listen sped up as narration was languid. It was easy listening with an okay story. Glad it was free.
Pet peeve of mine when the man automatically blamed for everything that went wrong even though its not his fault or at least not entirely, hence the low stars.

*spoiler warning* Jace obviously has trust issues, Jace and Emily talk about the foundations of Jace's trust issues, Emily discovers Jace doesn't really trust her (because of the history of his trust issues), Emily breaks it off without talking it through and its somehow all Jace's fault!? and Emily defending her friend (who was obviously in the wrong) to the point of breaking up with Jace. Urgh. Jace can do better

About five hours too long!

The story really is a trivial HEA. It didn't need ten hours of will they, won't they. Ok for doing the ironing or if on a long solitary walk but otherwise I really can't recommend it. Good job it was free

Predictable

Got to chapter 21. Nothing interesting sorta just drags on and on. Writing is good. Just wish there were twists and more mysteries through out the story.. Did the author even enjoy writing this book?

Dragged

It hurt to finish this book, I wanted to just give up. I thought maybe I was missing something. Nope. It was that bad

I wanted to enjoy but too many friends, and dragge

The push and pull was just too much. It dragged out for way too long. I am at chapter 9. And I still don't know why they hate each other. I suspect it is a misunderstanding .

Between a dozen of side characters and friends, I feel they story is dragging of a bunch of side events over and over. Oh are Emily and Jace supposed to start a relationship?

A surprise.

This was worth the read. Romance, a little angst and some drama. Just what I needed.

First I didn't like Jase, then I tolerated him. Emily was alright with me.

Good but nearly great!

3.25 Stars for me.

This story had the makings of a 4.5 - 5 Star listen for me but...

1. There was so much push/pull that I nearly became seasick. It goes through 90% of the story.

2. The reason for the animosity was not revealed until the 50% mark. You are left scratching your head not knowing why they MCs don't like each other.

3..There is a lot going on in this story. I think that the secondary characters could have had a bit less time and the push/pull cut by 25% and better timing on the reason for the animosity, this would have been 4.5 Stars for me.

With that being said... I liked the way the author wove the story and built the world of family and friends. I will definitely listen to the next book in the series.

Unbelievably bad

I don’t like to leave bad reviews, this is someone’s work and I don’t want to bash it. This book was terrible. The storyline is all over the place and also just boring. The narrators are so slow and boring. This was painful to listen to.

Fear is powerful but no match for Love.

Jayce and Emily have a long history of intertwining friends, being paired up at the weddings of those friends and a long standing distrust for each other since high school. Jay starts to take a second look at their history and thinks maybe he can change their direction.
Human nature and perspective can give many facets to happenings past and present.

Just another love story.

The characters were somewhat interesting and believable, but I was expecting more maturity. Maybe it is just me. Seems as if their problems were too common to cause so much drama.

Just not my cup of tea

I kept waiting for it to get better, but it’s nothing like the typical authors I listen to. It lacked depth and I just couldn’t make it past chapter 4, so I did give the Storia three instead of a two or one. I’m more into Penny Reid, Poston. Fern, Michaels, Molly Harper, and Higgens? I love pearls of wisdom, new discoveries, laugh out loud and good humor, and lessons to make us better people as well as kinder to those that we might judge prematurely. It looks like a lot of other people enjoy her and I think that’s fantastic.❤️
