Summary
Shauna Niequist calls us to see the beauty, hope, and dimension in our ordinary days through the life-giving practice of celebration. Cold Tangerines is beautiful narration of Shauna's journey as a young writer, wife, and mom making peace with herself and crafting a life that celebrates the extraordinary moments hidden in the everyday.
Throughout each story echoes the heartbeat message that the normal, daily life ticking by on our streets and sidewalks, at our dinner tables and in our late-night talks - is the most precious thing any of us will ever experience. With her signature warmth and vulnerable storytelling, Shauna offers a feast of thoughtful reflections on the small moments that make up the human experience, the spiritual life, and things that seem ordinary but just might be sacred after all. She invites us into a new way of living with the awareness of God's movement gracing every part of our day.
Both a voice of challenge and song of comfort, this gallery of celebration encourages us to turn our attention to the marvelous life happening right under our noses. Join Shauna in this heartfelt and hopeful call upward to a new way of being, where there's room to breathe, to rest, to break down, and break through to the best possible life.

Real life at it's best...
Every female should read this. The author let's us into her life and shares good and bad, fears and triumphs, and shows us how real life looks. Shauna's personal experiences, told with wit and humor, show us how to learn to really live the life that we were made for.

Lovely collection of storeis
This heartwarming collection of personal stories chronicles the authors personal struggles as a woman, a friend, a sister/daughter/mother, and just as a human being.
While I wouldn't call this a self-help book it is definitely inspiring. Time and time again I found myself re-examining similar experiences from my own life and finding places I could have been more kind or more generous and often with myself as well.

Is there anything you would change about this book?
Usually an author-read book is great -- not this time. Where was the director? Some one should have suggested she SLOW DOWN when reading a book about gratitude and the reverence of every day life. She didn't give the listener a chance to contemplate, or even fully hear, what she was saying.
Would you be willing to try another one of Shauna Niequist’s performances?
I may read a book by Shauna Niequest but I will not listen to another one.

This book uplifts my day :)
I'm so grateful for the words in this book that are a reminder that the ordinary things are actually colorful and magnificent. It gave me perspective when I would wake up on a cloudy day and lose myself to the maelstrom of negativity. It was an absolute blessing!

Ehh
This book was supposed to be rejuvenating for your soul. I heard alot about this book being what you need when you feel down but it left me depressed everytime I'd listen to it. It basically tells you that the author has felt sorry for herself alot in life and is deciding to now be happy instead. The end.
