Summary
Become empowered to face your own messy, complicated life with fresh courage and bravery.
Undone is author Michele Cushatt's quest to make peace with a complicated life. It is an honest confession of a diagnosis of cancer and the joys and disappointments of motherhood and marriage, ripe with regret over what is and yet still hopeful for what could be.
With enough humor to ease the rawness of the story, Undone takes you on a roller-coaster two-year journey through the unexpectedness of life. A look back makes Michele long for a do-over, the chance to make fewer mistakes and leave less of a mess to clean up. A look forward makes Michele wonder if all her attempts to control life have robbed her of the vibrancy of it. And in the middle of this internal chaos, she finds her once-pristine house filled with the sights and sounds of three small, uncontainable children who just want to be loved.
In the end, Undone turns complication into a beautiful canvas, angst into joy, and the unknown into an adventure, revealing that sometimes life's most colorful and courageous stories are written right in the middle of the mess.

Those Who have Suffered make the Best Friends
If you ever struggle with thinking you have to be the perfect mother or wife, or that God loves you because of what you do or don’t do, then this book is for you. When this book 1st came out, I listen to it multiple times. When her second book came out four years later I wondered why I had listened to her first book so many times. So, I went back and listen to it again ( and then again). First of all, despite the fact that the author has suffered through more than most people do in a lifetime all in a relatively short period of time, it is a funny, uplifting read- never depressing. It is a must read for any Christian woman who has either been divorced, tried to raise teenage boys, adopted traumatized children or who has suffered with cancer. Mostly, it is for anyone who is suffering. This book was like having a friend who was honest about how difficult life can be and understood my struggles. Her message- in the midst of our very real pain and disappointments God is there loving us in our weakness not judging us for our failures. I highly recommend.

You are not alone
This book is beautifully written AND read. The authentic voice of Michelle's touches my heart. I relate to the cancer fighting, the parenting, the love-giving of it all. Sometimes all we need is I'm not alone to carry on.
I struggled with giving enough patience to my 10-month old son, after hearing the story of Michelle rocking her angry son screaming, I sobbed on the drive home. All I needed was to hold my baby and give him love.

A different kind of great
I was a little taken back when Michelle started singing or quoting bible scriptures but I became deeply engrossed in her story. I find myself relating in many ways and was hooked until the end. I admire her courage and faith. Best wishes Michelle to you and your family.

Raw. Realistic. Relatable.
Michele opens the door to her home, heart and family where we walk through the relatable messy to find refreshing and inspiration as she shares her walk with God as she navigates crisis, trauma and obedience to God’s call and will for her life despite outward circumstances. I love her storytelling. Wonderful selection!
