Summary
I knew the risks of this job when I signed on with Jameson Force Security. Knew my time as a marine would prepare me for the danger I would face. But no amount of training could have ever prepared me for the helplessness of watching my teammates die, the agonizing mental and physical pain of torture, or the despair of captivity.
Returning home to Pittsburgh following a mission gone wrong, I am riddled with guilt and haunted by nightmares. I spend my days trying to regain the parts of myself I lost in that desert, the pieces that made me the Malik Fournier I once was. While the physical effects of my torture are fading, the emotional ones are proving much more stubborn and I find solace from the last person I should ever seek such comfort.
Anna Tate lost even more than I did in that mission. Now a widow and a single mom to the daughter she gave birth to shortly after her husband’s death, Anna offers me comfort I don’t deserve. As my feelings for Anna grow, I worry that once she learns the truth about what happened, she’ll turn her back on me.
I pull her to me just as tightly as I push her away. Hoping this forbidden love will save me from the ghost I’ve become.

Emotional, heartbreaking, healing
In CODE NAME: GHOST we finally get Malik’s story. It hasn’t even been sure if he ever would get his own story for such a long time, after a mission in Syria went terribly wrong and he got kidnapped … But, Malik is a survivor – and so is Anna, who was equally affected by the same events, even if in a different way …
Both characters have a long road of recovery ahead of them, but maybe, just maybe they can travel this road together … If it weren’t for the guilt and grief they both were feeling. But still, there is this inexplicable calm they feel around the other, because they simply get each other, and soon their camaraderie transforms into something so much deeper …
A heartbreaking story of survival and healing, of overcoming trauma and the tortured emotions it brings, brought to life by the talented duo of Virginia Rose and Aaron Shedlock. They both know how to delivery every single emotion the characters feel just perfectly and take the story to another level.
Plain beautiful – including a wonderful cameo from my favorite couple from another Sawyer Bennett series. I loved it!

Worth the wait!
I've been anticipating Code Name: Ghost since I found out in one of Sawyer Bennett's earlier books that Malik survived. I was curious to see how he'd recover from the ordeal and who he was going to end up with, and it was worth the wait!
Anna's husband, Jimmy, was killed on the same mission Malik was on when he was captured. That makes this different from the other romances I usually get to read- this one is also about finding love again after suffering a loss and overcoming survivor's guilt. One thing I liked about this story is that it addresses both issues well and that it ended with all the loose ends neatly tied up. It does, however, tease the next book in the series, Code Name: Rook, and I can't wait to see what happens in Cage's story.
Aaron Shedlock and Virginia Rose were fantastic as Malik and Anna.
Code Name: Ghost is a slow burn contemporary romance written in dual first-person POV and recorded dual style. It's a standalone that ends with a HEA. No cliffhanger, no cheating.

Tortured souls
If you are looking for a book with all the feels, look no further! Sawyer Bennett's Ghost has every feel right here for you! Malik is home now, after watching his teammates dies and being held hostage. Coming back and facing all the ghosts is near impossible. Anna is a new widow with an infant and she has taken a definite interest in Malik's well being. The two have an inexplicable connection and their attraction palpable. Now falling, will Anna be able to deal with the secret Malik has been keeping? Will Malik ever learn to forgive himself for coming home alive? This book has it all and you will feel it deep in your heart. Anna is a fantastic character. She is grieving, but she is so strong, and she isn't shut off from loving again. Malik is so tortured. Between what he witnessed and the guilt he carries, he is a mess. I can see why Anna loves him though. Mess or not, the man is passionate and loving. Their journey is hard, each carrying their baggage, but soon find it's so much lighter when they carry it together!
Aaron Shedlock and Virginia Rose bring this all to life. Shedlock plays the broody, tortured soul flawlessly. Each emotion Malik feels is felt through the nuances in Shedlock's voice. Rose easily falls into character as Anna. She uses her voices to let us know exactly what Anna is experiencing. Together they are amazing!

A Riveting & Heartfelt Story! Brilliant Listen🎧📚🎧
I loved this book, it is a beautiful written story of two people who suffered from tragedy and loss. Malik was on a mission with other members of Jameson Force Security, it was supposed to be an in and out rescue mission but things went bad when they were ambushed from behind, two members of his team were killed and he was taken hostage, held for five months in an hole in the ground somewhere in a Syrian desert. He was tortured and was not sure what his future held, he was doubtful he even had one. Jameson Force Security lead by Kynan, did not give up on finding him, it took them months to locate him but they did and the team went in and rescued Malik. Kynan, one of my favorite characters in this series, looks out for his men, he wanted to make sure Malik got the help he needed not allowing him to go back to full duty until he was cleared. Anna Tate’s life was forever changed, she lost her husband and gave birth to his daughter several months after the loss, a bittersweet moment for her. She is learning how to live again, she is now working at Jameson Force Security and coming to terms with being a single mom. She was happy to hear that Malik was rescued, she only met him briefly before he left on the mission so she was not expecting to feel such a strong connection to him as she did. I felt the two were perfect for each other and together. Two wounded souls with broken hearts, hers for losing her husband his for the guilt he felt for the failed mission. I love how their story played out, it is beautiful plotted with plenty of drama, a bit of angst, many heart filling emotions and the start of a wonderful romance. Sawyer Bennett did a great job covering survivor’s guilt and PTSD. I loved how realistic and relatable the characters are, it is easy to see and understand what they are going thru. Also loved Malik’s connection to Cold Fury Hockey. Thank you for another awesome book, I know I said it before but this is definitely one of my favorites of yours, one of many.
Aaron Shedlock and Virgin’a Rose are talented narrator and versatile voice artists. They bring the characters to life naturally and with ease, giving each their own voice. They do an awesome job portraying each characters, I loved Aaron’s Malik, he captured his true persona and sounded just as I pictured him to sound. His Kynan was perfection too, great job with the British accent. Virginia’s Anna was spot on too. Both are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen🎧

The story we've been waiting for!!!
Having heard that the mission had gone wrong and Anna lost her husband and Malik was missing, I had been curious about these two from the start.
All the past, the pain, and the hopeful look to the future. Ahh, the tension, trying to hold back, not sure if they can move forward. SO good! We wanted this story, and it delivered!

An absolute gem!!
I love the entire Jameson Force Security series but this book Code Name: Ghost is by far my favorite. Malik and Anna's survival through some of the worst things imaginable had me crying all of those ugly tears. Their love story reeled me in like no other books have done before. I absolutely loved it. By far one of my best reads of 2020 so far. The narrators were fantastic really paying justice to the words they read. They used all the emotion necessary to make this book totally believable.

Emotionally charged!
Oh holy moly! Ghost storylone made my heart ache... like it literally ached for these two battered souls! For one, I can't even imagine (and don't wanna) how Anna was able to continue on with life and having a baby without the father. I feel like i would have been a pebble but Anna shows great strength. Then we have Malik, he's struggling with some massive survivor's guilt. They both excluded this strength and so much heartache... until love started to mend them together.
Aaron Shedlock excels at playing the wounded marine/military man. There's something in his voice that magnifies all the feelings, all the pain Malik feels is given over in his voice. Virgina Rose is very similar with packing a wallup of emotions into her voice. This is a rough and emotionally-charged story that these to narrators took to another level!

This is the story I have been waiting for
Welcome to another installment of the Jameson Force series.
Ever since "that mission" I have been anxious for both Anna and Malik - we have met them in earlier books, and I have needed more.
And Ms Bennett has definitely come out hitting with Code Name: Ghost.
I don't want to give anything away, but boy oh boy is this one a rollercoaster.
Feelings of grief and guilt play a big part in this story, and I felt it right to my core. So many tortured feelings and emotions, I just wanted to hug our lovelies so hard.
I loved getting more of the Jameson "family" dynamic and finding out where our previous couples are at, and have left me wanting more.
Ms Rose is a new narrator to me, and she has a wonderful tone to her narration. Mr Shadlock is fast becoming a favourite of mine, and look forward to more of both their work.
Please Ms Bennett, give me more.

Worth the wait
This is one of the books that I have been not so patiently waiting for. I wanted to know what happened to Malik in Syria and when he comes home. And what would happen with Anna Tate after picking up the pieces of her life after losing her husband. The relationship with these two is what you can imagine. Sawyer Bennett did not disappoint with this book. I could not put this down and loved the story. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. The great thing about this series and of sawyer Bennett series is you don’t have to read all of the books but I do suggest you do because they are so good. Aaron Sherlock and Virginia Rose narration was great

My favourite in the series and so good on audio
Yay! Finally, it’s Malik’s turn. Malik Fournier, brother to Cold Fury Hockey players Max and Lucas, a former marine now working for Jameson Force Security, held hostage for 5 months in the desert following an operation gone bad. Then we have the adorable, hard working and independent Anna Tate who lost her husband on that same mission, a widow with a baby on the way. When Malik is rescued and working back at Jameson, he and Anna quickly form a bond deeper than just friendship, but they both need to let go of their guilt if they have any chance of being more. Not a lot of action in this story, lots of romance though. A wonderful story, featuring many of my favourite Sawyer Bennett characters. Malik and Anna, don’t play games, they speak their minds and don’t mince their words. Truth all the way, even if it does hurt to hear. A match made in heaven, and true sole mates in my opinion. Wonderful writing, a great story and characters, and quite possibly one of my favourites in the series. Add in narration from Aaron Shedlock (I just love his sexy rumble), and Virginia Rose, and it was a real winner for me.
