I love that this book focuses on creating “moments

I love that this book focuses on creating “moments of joy” amidst the struggles of dementia care. Caring for someone with dementia is such a difficult road and sometimes feels impossible. Stella reminds us to appreciate the small victories and the beauty in everyday moments. None of us are perfect but having perspective and trying to create joy is very important when caregiving.

Gold mine of relevant information

This is an absolutely amazing book. A proper hidden Gem. Whoever this author is, will go far in her career. Firstly, before I begin there is a dedication to the author's grandmother. One can only assume she must have been an amazing lady who had a huge impact on this writer's life. I don't think I have heard a dedication in any of the audiobooks I have listened to so this sets the tone right away, that it is likely written from the heart and from experience. The introduction is quite stark as it describes through a personal story a high level overview what Dementia is and what it does and immediately you can see the impact this affliction would have on caregivers/families. I think chapter three was my favorite as this really goes into the early symptoms and stages. I won't list them out but this is the chapter to be focusing on for a more in depth description of Dementia. I think chapter 5 links well as this goes into the decline of dementia patients and what to expect in this phase, Things like washing, bathroom and sleeping to name but a few. The narration is clear and fits well in line with such a topic. Great Book and I would definitely read more of Stella Stones work
