Not my fav of the series

While I am enjoying most of this story line this particular book was definitely not one I loved. Apollo of both worlds were not very nice guys. First the our earth one was a sadistic and criminal ass so of course we hate him. But then the other world one basically kidnaps Maddy knowing she was abused and had been hurt a lot and then treats her horribly throughout the story. He has her doubting herself and blaming herself every time he gets mad at her. He interrupts her and tells her to be quiet all the time. She is verbally abused by him over and over.
He gets angry at her then says something hurtful and nasty then doesn't talk to her for days. It made me a little angry with Kristen Ashley that she made maddy feel responsible and guilty and not able to demand he treat her right or let her go. Even a brief attempt at that was cut off short with a "I know I was a jerk" type comment. Apollo was definitely not a hero in my book. He had some semi moments but over all fell far short for me.

The rest of the storyline was good and the conclusion satisfying but as I said it wasn't my favorite story. If you like or love the others you have to get this to find out what happens but don't expect to love apollo if you do cool but I suspect many will not

I loved this book. At first I was a little confused because I went into this assuming it was a continuation of book one but to be honest this book was much better than book one. I loved these characters and the difficult time they had communicating because of the language barrier. I loved how they figured it out. This was a great love story and man it was hot too. I don't think I have ever enjoyed fantasy as much as I did with this book.

The narration was great! She really did an amazing job with the different languages and the male characters.

AN UNFORGETTABLE EPIC ADULT ONLY FAIRYTALE

Ok so I've been binge listening to this, and the previous book, for 37.. YES 37 hours - and you may ask if I'm bored yet? Well, I can honestly tell you that I'm not, no way - not even a little bit because Kristen Ashley's Fantasyland series is all kinds of right up my street. From the droolworthy Alpha Heroes, the loving kick ass Heroines, the amazingly described fantastical action-packed plots, the rollercoaster romances, the hot sex and the beautiful words said between two lovers - ALL of it ticked my boxes.

KA weaves a suspense filled colorful story and Tillie Hooper masterfully makes it all come alive with her endless ability of transforming the written word into clear and vivid mental images. Images of a damaged woman and a heartbroken Father of two who both get a second chance to reach for a HEA during a time of grief and confusion.. during a time of compassion, passion and love.. during a time of magic, witches, mayhem and war. A full cast of interesting secondary characters including the sweet, the loveable, the nasty and the downright evil characters. This story was the culmination of the previous 3 books and then it continues the thread as all couples are needed to fight the unpredictable enemy.

Worth a credit? If you want to be transported into an alternate universe where you'll find a fantasy world similar, and yet totally different from our own, hear about a touching and compelling love story and join the battle of good vs. evil - then a million YES'. I was mesmerized from the very first chapter to the last word.. and even then I didn't want to leave.

Broken Indeed

I love KA books and I love this series, but this book got on my last nerve! It was way too long. I have to listen to other stories in the process of listening to this. The female leads in this series all seem like they are the same person. They all use the same words like "Awesome" "Cool" "WOW". Other than that you have to listen to this book to enjoy the series. Book 2 is still my favorite.

Weak woman BLAAAAHHH😑😤

Why does this author continue to write the weakest heroins ever. These women rationalize away rape, beatings, kidnapping, drugged sex, forced marriages and domineering men. I wish the girls would fight like hell. Womp womp this series is so frustrating. I fast forward A LOT!!! - side note: I can hear all the narrators punch ins and there is too much description. 😑😑😤😤

Love this series

Kristen Ashley has done it again. I have listen to everyone of her books. She hit another home run. I also, must say that Tillie Hopper was amazing. Start from the beginning and you will find your life on hold while you finish. Have fun!!

book 2 and 4 are the best

It was great having all the characters come together. it had intrigue, adventure and romance. Book 2 and 4 are the best in the series!

4.5 Broken Dove Stars

I am loving this series so freaking hard, though that being said it’s not that I didn't like this book because I really did I just found it to be a little long winded, no that, that is or can be a bad thing. Just that I had wished the story would have progressed faster than it did.

What a perfect title for this book, Maddie really was a broken dove when we meet her. But she has fight in her a whole butt load of it. She wouldn't let anything get her down oh no freaking way. She fought with all that she had.

Apollo is a man who was broken himself, granted his was with grief but that’s still a kind of broken. When he saw Maddie his grief consumed him for a time but he learned that just because she looks like his beloved she is not. I really enjoyed hearing about this, getting to see him struggle with his feelings and how they were going to work things through.

Maddie… This woman has strength and courage of plenty but what she didn't have was faith in herself and getting to read how she did was pretty amazing. She really struggled with her own self-worth.
Fantastic book, it’s a story of growth, and learning to love again, for both of them really and the children.

I am sad to be starting book 5 that means we will be ending the series. But what a phenomenal job Tillie did with this narration.. I am stunned and in awe of how she can make everyone’s voices so very unique as they are in the story. I love it.

Oh yes. It is whimsical and an escape from the day to day in the real world

I am partial to Finny mainly because she was the first to go to the alternate world.

Have you listened to any of Tillie Hooper’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. She has been excellent in all 4 books I've listened too. She does her characterizations very well.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes if I had the time.

fantastic

fantastic story read by the incredible Tillie Hooper who has the talent for different voices. a book written by the amazing Kristen Ashley should be given the justice of being read well, and it certainly is.
