Summary
From her free-spirited mother, Sunny Goodwin learned the value of peace, love, and Jerry Garcia. The inheritance from the father she never knew? That's a little more complicated....
Sunny never expected to find herself owning a centuries old silk mill in the shadow of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains...or becoming a half-sister to a 10-year-old named Bailey. Once the shock subsides, she plans to cash in and head back home. But the overgrown greenhouse she finds on the property calls out to the gardener in her, and she senses Bailey's need for nurturing too....
And someone else is making it hard for Sunny to leave: Sawyer Hartwell, an Iraq War hero who wants to make the old mill a creative hub for the artisans of Blue Hollow Falls...and wants Sunny to share his vision, and his life. But sexy as this ex-soldier may be, she's not sure she's ready to give love a chance....

A really slow dull story
I couldn’t even finish this book it was so dull, predictable and full of cliche innuendos.

Nice enough
I wish books like these would have warnings they have explicit content, I don't mind too much if I know as long as that's not all it's about.
I liked the story but thought the explicit scenes and characters internal monologues were a bit much to be honest.
This title is in the included catalogue which is good but I don't think I'll be spending my credits on the others in this series, just not for me so I'm glad I got to find out with this one

It's hard to review Donna Kauffman..
...in anything other than a positive way and this book is no exception. With a location so brilliantly described, a varied cast of attractive people and a satisfactory story arc, what's not to like? Oh, and the perfect reader too. I'll be getting the rest of the series

Lighthearted story for the start of a series.
I think I could listed to Amanda Ronconi read the telephone book (do they still print those?) and be entertained. Decent story that was a little predictable at times but possibly a good set up for a series. Lighthearted and easy listening for those times you like to listen to something while multitasking.

So glad I gave this book a try
First I'd like to say I didn't give this book a chance at first because of a review I read saying it was nasty and "no thank you" to step siblings falling in love. SAWYER AND SUNNY ARE NOT STEP SIBLINGS LEGALLY OR BIOLOGICALLY. That individual must not have read past chapter six. I was intrigued by the mystery of how this broken mix of individuals all inheriting the same property together fit in with one another and because of that I am not going to "spoil" that book for anyone else explaining that they are not step siblings. Because I have ADORED this book I have to defend it.
I loved fiction as a child and I found it again when I started reading a series by Robyn Carr, Virgin River, and another called Angel's Rest by Emily March. I stumbled upon Donna Kauffman through the audible romance package, which I bought because the VR series was getting pretty $$$ to buy "per book." She is in my top five favorite authors now. Pelican Point in in my top ten favorites. I found the book "Pelican Point" by Donna as my intro to her and was fascinated by the book.
Back to reviewing THIS title - Blue Hollow Falls is a great book for anyone who comes from a messy family situation - it includes characters that were in foster care/adopted, ex military, a botanist, a witty and loyal matriarch, many craftsman, sexy guys, a sexy lady, etc - This book has something for everyone, and it is especially for those who have an interest in a wide variety of topics, love to learn about new things and places, and love a good old fashioned romance. No spoilers here. Buy the book - you will love it just as much as I did (unless you have bad taste - haha).

Blue Hollow Falls
VERY GOOD STORY. My complaint is that the sexual detail was way more than was needed for such a good book causing a lot of fast forwarding. Amanda Ronconi is the absolute best!! Would have loved to buy more by Donna Kauffman but will avoid because of the unnecessary sexual detail.

First book by this author
I liked the book and settings. I feel like occasionally something was skipped or left out because it felt like I missed something. Overall I liked the story and it was lightly steamy. Will try another of her books. So far I've liked everything Amanda Ronconi has read. She has a good southern drawl when needed, but not overly fake.

A delightful start to a sweet romance series!
I recently stumbled on Ms. Kauffman's audiobooks because they showed up under narrator Amanda Ronconi, whom I always enjoy listening to, under the "More from the same narrator" section. I'm so glad I did!
Lovely sweet romance with realistic characters in a slightly contrived situation, but with enough quirk and humor and realness to the community and supporting characters to make the book an easy listen. A great start to a romance series - nicely sets up characters for new books in the series, too. Makes me want to know what happens to them!
Ms. Kauffman knows how to pen a love story that makes a listener's heart happy, and Ms. Ronconi knows how to narrate a love story - ANY story, in fact - to make a listener's ears happy. She does a great job of distinguishing characters - good male and female and various aged voices!
Sex - some open door
Language - now and then
Violence - none except for references to past experiences
Substance abuse - none except for references to past experiences
Social drinking - some
Looking forward to the next audiobook in the series!

Feminist grade: A
At first I was a bit hesitant to keep reading it because it is unclear if the girl and guy are related, but later it is clarified that they are not related at all. The author pulled a Shadowhunters thing on us!
The book is quite awesome. Happy to see a guy not act like a neanderthal, all crazy possessive.

choices
This book has beautiful details that allow you to paint a picture of the setting. The vast differences in characters is unique, but they smoothly mesh well together. The best part of the whole book is the real life lesson that we all have choices. There is no black or white, but an array of colors before, between, and after.

OMG. Awful book
I have read all her series. Enjoyed them all. This book is the Worst Ever!!. So much boring dialog with the worst plot. It just never ended. Very painful! Amanda Roncini is the best narrator and still was awful. It had so much potential but just kept getting worse I will not read the rest
