Summary

A mysterious red sports car. A bloodied animal corpse. He’s caught the scent of a brutal crime, and he won’t stop until it’s solved....

DCI Harry Grimm is weary of humanity’s evil. Dragged to the middle of nowhere during the darkest of hours, he’s enraged by grisly evidence of a horrific illegal dog fight. And when the mutilated remains turn out to be a gamekeeper’s stolen pet, the gritty detective senses he has a solid lead after learning of a long-running feud.

Immediately putting his team on the case, Grimm worries the stakes may be escalating when the animal’s owner is beaten and left for dead. And though the tough investigator puts his nose to the ground and follows the bloody clues, he fears there’s only one shot to apprehend the real monster.

Can he bring a loathsome criminal to justice before the savagery turns deadly?

Blood Sport is the riveting seventh book in the DCI Harry Grimm Crime Thrillers series. If you like tightly woven plots, tenacious cops, and noir-style action, then you’ll love David J. Gatward’s nail-biting tale.

Fantastic

I absolutely love this series and the narrator is brilliant. I’m constantly checking to see when the next book is available and can’t wait to see how things work out for everyone.I usually listen while walking the dogs and it really does feel like you’re out with friends.I was a little hesitant when I saw the subject matter but it’s so sensitively written it wasn’t an issue, can’t wait to find out what happens next.

Another great story brilliantly narrated

As an incomer to “God’s own country” over 70 years ago I have really appreciated the story not being told with a terrible fake Yorkshire accent and with just the right amount of dialect to make the stories come to life. The characters are brilliantly drawn with tastes of the wonderful Yorkshire humour.
I can’t wait to settle down with the next of Harry’s adventures.

Yet again David takes me home to the Yorkshire dales with a delightful story. Exceptionally well read by Aubrey Parsons

good

Good listen, except the basic error of 2 names wrong, Matts wife has been Joan in every book, but she is Jean in this one, and the vicar has changed from Anna to Alice

Another treat listen.

This is another great listen from Dave Gatward, the subject may be a bit controversial but Dave deals with it in a very sensitive manner. Please do not be put off by the first chapter as some people seem to have been. The character development is really good in this the seventh book in the series. Listening to these books is like being there and visiting with old friends. Once again descriptions of our beutiful Yorkshire Dales is exceptional. In response to one of your comments in the notes chapter Dave, as a Yorkshireman of over 65 years I can say that in my opinion you have got the yorkshire accent and dialect just right, many authors go to town on our accent and spoil the whole book, we are not all EEh Bah Gum merchants as some people seem to think! LOL! Once again Aubrey Parsons excels in his narration and is like one of the old friends mentioned above. Now stop reading this and get on with the next book please.☺ **********

Eh by gum!

I love listening to the accent (beautifully done by Aubrey Parsons) just as much as the story. I’m looking forward to listening to book 8 and getting to know the characters even better.

Brilliant

Another great storyline, difficult at times but so well written. I’m loving how Harry is settling into life in the Dales and how tight knit his team are, they’ll always have each other’s backs.
