Summary

The murder of one wannabe starlet may only be the beginning for a vicious killer.

When poor little New Hampshire rich girl Mindy Hollis gets lost in Los Angeles, her big sister hires private detective Ed Traynor to find her. Traynor and Hollis's security chief, Jack McMahon, take off for Tinseltown to track down the aspiring actress - but they discover the only part she ever got was the one that killed her.

Their hunt for her killers takes them from the bowels of Mexico City to the glitz of Los Angeles, north to the set of The Black Orchid in Vancouver, and then back again to Hollywood, where the angels are dying in the dark. It's up to Ed and Jack to save them before the film fades to black.

Skyhorse Publishing, as well as our Arcade, Yucca, and Good Books imprints, are proud to publish a broad range of books for listeners interested in fiction - novels, novellas, political and medical thrillers, comedy, satire, historical fiction, romance, erotic and love stories, mystery, classic literature, folklore and mythology, literary classics including Shakespeare, Dumas, Wilde, Cather, and much more. While not every title we publish becomes a New York Times best seller or a national best seller, we are committed to books on subjects that are sometimes overlooked and to authors whose work might not otherwise find a home.

The story had gradual escalation

Wow the narration is enough to feel dizzy, except for the Spanish which was tolerable! Otherwise, bit pointless. The Investigation was so straightforward, so predictable. the end was so pointless with the bad guy wanting to kill people while he didn't need to. It is something else

Yellow Alyssum Fields

Well above average thriller with a noir feel from the fine narration and style of writing and subject, but actually set in modern day. The themes are gritty: drug dealers, pimps, porn, snuff movies only slightly updated from the heady days of Hollywood, careering into sleeze at the dark lower edges. A fine set of MCs; nowhere does this tale resort to stupid or angst.

An engrossing drama with lots of action. Well done Audible, a fine freebee, thank you. WORTH THE TRIP, ENJOYABLE

Way too long!

The story could, and should, have finished way sooner and a very poor ending Just kill them all off! 20 minutes could have been saved if we didn't gave rules and regulations to listen to at the start of each chapter. I would not recommend this book.
