For professionals and non-project managers
This book gave me answers to why most projects did not succeed in our company. The author presents the essential skills the project manager needs and how they can improve the culture, gain support from the sponsor, stakeholders, and team members. I liked the tips for closing tasks quickly and preventing scope creep. Understanding team members (bits of psychology) and being your team's best fan are the first stepping stones for an efficient team, which the author promises to level up in his next book, Being a Project Leader. Generally, I think the book fits very well with professionals and non-project managers who lead their initiatives and private projects. The narration is superb!

Avoid scope mistakes
As a perfectionist, I add other features and improvements to my “projects.” I call them projects even though I work on them mostly alone. The book is the right fit as it discusses how to close tasks effectively and avoid scope mistakes. I have to say “no” primarily to myself. 80% indeed means a project or assignment is generally complete, and most people are okay with it. This is the biggest added value for me.

Must listen for PM
I can gladly recommend this book to new project managers or these who strive for excellence in their project management career! It is not enough to be a good project manager. Important to be an effective one! The book is full of useful tips and tricks on how to manage teams and projects successfully. So many new insights for my PM role! Win the PM game
A project manager’s role is similar to a sports coach. You can win only with your team. You have to focus on essential aspects, such as being a leader, planning the scope and time well, managing risks, and becoming a strong executor in closing tasks early. These are well developed in the book.

Integrity, organized and never give up
The book shines in chapter 8, Level up your PM game. It brings advanced topics that can be used in other management fields as well. Working with integrity always pays off. Cheating is still a short-term strategy. Being organized first and then organize work for the team is something I have to improve. Sometimes I give up, especially when I see my results are not valued. I have to change my perspective.

A great source for a job interview
I participated in several projects as a team member. I believe I can be a good project manager and lead them to meet the expectations. I know I would be asked what I would do to lead projects effectively in adverse situations. This book helped me to prepare well and impress during the interview. Thank you!

Ready Set Agile created this radio station “What’s In It For Me” or WII-FM. Tune to the person you are speaking with and understand their needs and expectations. This is something that helps me to achieve more from meetings. The book contains everything for a project manager’s improvement, and I listened to it during commuting to work.

Effective PMs do get their hands dirty
The quote in the title reflects what’s in the book. I like the project management profession because it is the most crucial tool to achieve strategic goals and is about working with people. Both require going entirely into the problems, not being afraid to make unpopular decisions, and lead the team.

Career improvement
I have a broad management overview and experience. I participated in several projects and led many initiatives, managing the team, and process rather intuitively. I wanted to put them on a firm basis and become effective in this field. The book met my expectations and delivered what it promised.
