Summary

A romantic seven-day cruise is the perfect start to bakery owner Hannah Swensen's marriage. However, with a murder mystery heating up in Lake Eden, Minnesota, it seems the newlywed's homecoming won't be as sweet as she anticipated....

After an extravagant honeymoon, Hannah's eager to settle down in Lake Eden and turn domestic daydreams into reality. But when her mother's neighbor is discovered murdered in the condo downstairs, reality becomes a nightmarish investigation. Victoria Bascomb, once a renowned stage actress, was active in the theater community during her brief appearance in town...and made throngs of enemies along the way. Did a random intruder murder the woman, as police claim, or was a deadlier scheme at play? As Hannah peels through countless suspects and some new troubles of her own, solving this crime - and living to tell about it - might prove trickier than mixing up the ultimate banana cream pie.

Awful!!

Only book that I have read and I couldn't get past chapter four. Dislike the recipes at the end of the chapters and hope that "Cookie" AKA Hannah kills Ross soon. Very soon!
So disappointed.

If it ain't broke don't fix it!

What would have made Banana Cream Pie Murder better?

Why is it seemingly impossible for writers to allow a main character to have a little happiness. Being married doesn't preclude having a life, but for authors, it seems to be the kiss of death. A very unsatisfactory ending all the way around. My advise, give this one a pass - unless you're a glutton for punishment and love to see the main character in unnessary anguish. AWFUL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Has Banana Cream Pie Murder turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, just books in this series.

Have you listened to any of Suzanne Toren’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Suzanne Toren is a terrific reader. The content is not her fault.

What character would you cut from Banana Cream Pie Murder?

Ross Barton. He should have been left out of all the books if this was going to be his end.

Any additional comments?

You can't unring a bell. So you can't go back and pretend Ross never existed. So, now the reader is left caught between the proverbial rock and a hard place. And that is a very uncomfortable place indeed. Shame, shame, Joanne Fluke.

Disappointed

Not author's best. Not a fan of Ross character and changes in Hannah. Guess cliffhanger a way to get us to buy next book not sure I will.

spacing

the speaker took tomuch time between chapters that at time I believed my phone had either gone dead or the story had been paused. No much empty space.

Very light and slow read.

I'm losing faith in Hannah Swensen and at one time I could hardly wait for them to come out. There was no meat to this story at all - just a lot of fluff with recipes. If you took out the recipe readings the book would hardly qualify for a short story. Is anybody besides me so tired of having to listen to recipes interrupt the story (lame though it is) every time you turn around? It's not good listening ....it's boring me to tears. Wake up and write another compelling mystery or just start writing cook books. This was a waste of time and the whole Ross angle did not belong in the series at all.

Disappointment

Possibly the most boring of all her books and a great disappointment. Ross is a loser. Bad ending.

Lost its flavor

Ever since Hannah became "cookie" I have barely been able to listen. It completely ruined all the years and hours I put into the series.

I have never read any of these books before but i have watched several of the movies on Hallmark. I love them. This book was great and i look forward to more of them. I truly want to know where Ross went and why.

Average at Best

I have loved these books but didn’t enjoy this one nearly as much as the others. I’m not sure I am of fan of a ‘married’ Hannah. And I don’t particularly like Ross. I hope the next book is better.
