Summary

When Remy's grandmother dies, it means leaving her life in San Francisco and returning to a town she swore she'd never revisit, forced to confront a world she'd worked hard to put behind her over the last twelve years.

She's not expecting that the first girl to ever steal her heart, the pretty, popular Fallon Lewis, is still around, and in a town this small, their paths continue to cross, much to Remy's dismay. It's hard enough seeing her first love, but it's exponentially more difficult when she can barely stand to look at the woman.

Remy's trip back has the possibility to open up doors she believed were shut long ago, but she's never planned on staying, and she definitely never planned on letting Fallon back into her life.

If she thought being a teenager in a small town was hard, she's about to find out how much harder life is when there's no one but herself to blame for her problems.

Contains mature themes.

Perfect 😍

So nich to listen to LP narrate such beautifully written stories by MM. Emotional, sexy and fun. Definitely the new(better) GBeers or MBrayden 😊

When Find and Replace Doesn’t Work…

The blonde? The brunette? It felt like the author wrote the manuscript, didn’t have names assigned, and the “find and replace” function didn’t work for the final draft.
Maybe the bald didn’t talk to the redhead and the gray said, “hey, let’s just go with it. Nobody will notice.” (See? Totally annoying, right?)
So noticeable…

Descriptors need to be better

The story was heightened by the performance of Lori Prince. The lack of imagination in descriptions of the main characters definitely could be better. BLONDE /BRUNETTE... This drove me a bit crazy and made it hard to pay attention to the storyline.

Mixed feelings

I mostly enjoyed this book. Likeable characters and decent plot, if a bit predictable. My biggest issue was the OVERUSE of 'the blonde did this' or the 'brunette says this'. The blonde is Fallon and brunette is Remy... why use blonde and brunette instead of first names? It was distracting and confusing at times... took away from the story. Lori Prince was awesome as usual.

Blonde and brunette….

I like the concept and the story moves along at a good pace. I’m surprised the editor didn’t fix some of the point of view issue’s. It jumps from 1st to 3rd and back again in a really odd way. And there are just way too many “the blonde or the brunette “ it becomes jarring after awhile. LP good as always.

Modern and Relatable

Chemistry, romance, steam we’re all excellent. What really hooked me was that the main character was the one who had to change her thinking, several times actually, until she got it right. In the beginning she feels justified for her views and is confidently “adulting”. But as the story progresses she is confronting with multiple opportunities to realize how much maturing in her relationships she has to do. Narration, of course, was amazing.

Great audiobook

This was a very cute story about second chances at first love. Lori Prince did an amazing job now narrating this book. She really brought those feelings to life when listening to the book. My only struggle through this book was the constant saying of the brunette, and the blonde, why would you not just say Remi and Fallon. Other than that it was a great book.

Good story

It was good. The blonde one/brunette one/tall one descriptors were distracting but I got over it. Overall I enjoyed it. Thanks!

A Bit Slow, a little meh

Not one of the better novels by the author. The narration was good, but I sometimes felt I was listening to the same character speaking throughout. Not distinctive enough between the main characters.

Side Note

Berkley and SF in general being the golden land always irks me when used as the place to "Run away" to in novels. Especially these days. Give me middle America any day.
