Summary

The brilliant new summer best seller from Lindsey Kelk, author of the I Heart series.

Everyone loves a bridesmaid. Except Maddie, who's perpetually asked to be one.

Everyone loves a wedding. Except Maddie's best friend, who's getting divorced.

And everyone loves the way Maddie's so happy backstage. Except Maddie herself.

One best friend is in wedding countdown while the other heads for marriage meltdown. And as Maddie juggles her best chance at promotion in years with bridezilla texts and late-night counselling sessions, she starts to wonder - is it time to stop being the bridesmaid?

Brilliant chicklit!

This is a classic romcom, but the author has been creative in this format. I laughed out loud a lot throughout, both at scenarios, character descriptions and wordplays. Lotti Maddox narrated the story as if she relayed her own life. And she has a good grasp of accents. I'd recommend this book to you who likes a good romcom.

Fun read, touching too

I love Lindsey Kelk - always a good fun lighthearted read. I looked at this and thought another book about weddings, happily ever afters. I didn't know if it would hold my attention.... wasn't in the mood for a wedding story. Glad I listened because as always there was so much more, funny, light, emotional, sobering. I finished it late last night and thought it was "brilliant"

the title doesn't fit

Story is ok, I thought the narrator was good. I don't know why it has this title...

Enjoyable.

I liked this book. It’s a nice story, easy to listen to.
4 stars for performance because the narrator doesn’t change her voice for the male characters, so at one point I couldn’t follow the conversation between two of the characters. But her accents were excellent.
4 stars for story because the title doesn’t really fit, and because I’d have liked more relationship development between the love interest and the main character. There was too much on the female friendships side of things for me, and I’d have preferred a bit more on the romance. It just felt a bit unbelievable for me.
But overall, nice story, good female relationships, easy to listen to, would recommend.
