About this listen

Gregory was beyond happy when his second year in the Magi Academy began. Now married to both Yukiko and Jenn, Gregory had more love than he ever thought he’d find. It was also a time for friends. Daciana and Nessa, their novice friends, found another in Victoria, who also quickly became close with Gregory and his wives.

Gregory found still more friends in Clover and Ling, two clanless apprentices who shared his tactics subgroup. The eurtik-blooded magi were earnest and eager to learn, so they were quickly taken under the Aether’s Guard apprentices’ wings.

With so many friends around him, Gregory felt the year was bright. The hatred of the Eternal Flame still pressed down on them—although the clan seemed strangely quiet during the first half of the year, the threat of violence was still there.

The friends trained hard to fight as a unit, intent on being the champions to raise the clan’s name and reputation. The first tournament of the year came quickly, with a few surprises. The biggest was because of the merchant, Carlisle, belittling eurtiks. Hao Warlin suckered him into a bet that grew and grew until the merchant lost a massive amount of money. Hao took it gladly, using it to purchase gifts for Daciana, Nessa, and Victoria. Those items allowed the three novices to not only survive the remainder of the tournament, but also to emerge as the victors.

Gregory and his wives fought honorably and hard to advance to the finals, where their last fight was against the Eternal Flame. With their rigorous training and communication, they managed to defeat the arrogant clan, letting them stand alongside their novice friends as champions.

The excitement of being the champions wasn’t the happiest part of their year, though. That came after the tournament, when all five of their friends—Nessa, Daciana, Victoria, Clover, and Ling—joined Aether’s Guard.

The apprentices weren’t done yet, as they had other major events ahead of them. The tournament for their tactics class was first and, beyond that, the tournament against Buldoun.

awesomeness

just keeps getting better what more do you need slice of life harem magi strategy cute bunny girls etc, it has an awesome story as well not just fight get the girl repeat a true progression not a cookie cutter like some others.
i tend to look for covers thhat do not have women suggestively possing, they have there place but this is a cut above those and andrea as always delivers a fantastic listening experience.
stay for the bloopers as it has me crying with laughter worth the money just for those.

A good series but too harem

Interesting world building, really enjoying the magic and clans. The characters are all likable however the harem is excessive and is spoiling the series for me.

To the point that if it expands beyond the main 3 characters in the 4 hours I have left the series will become a "nothing else to read" series for me in the future.

Abit filler full

I might be jaded after the end of the other book series but I found this book was mostly world building and filler. I enjoyed it as I have most other books by this author but was hoping the next arc would have started earlier than the next book.

Tour de Force of Voice Talent, worthy of a listen

Finding this series an enigma, I am enjoying it but feel like I shouldn't as apart from some ongoing mysteries and the discussions surrounding the magic system are intriguing.

TL;dr of this episode. Shy poly MC fights in tournament arcs, plays Warhammer with friends, and has lots of sex.

I'd like to get answers to a few questions so will stick through it to find out what is what.

Plus Andrea Parsneau is an absolute powerhouse of voice talent, which definitely pushes this audiobook series into the "Should listen to." category.

Ruined Harem

A Awsome world cool magic and good characters … all spoiled by a obsession with building a harem for the main character, realy felt like Linley sad weeb would randomly take over the writing spoiling the story and book with a sad man’s fantasy !

Aethers Guard is gonna getcha

Aether's Apprentices by @DJSchinhofen. The best thing about the #AethersGuard series is the talented narration by @MouthyMaven. The second is the fantastic 🌎world building and story arc. And finally, the blooper reel puts the cherry on the cake. 📚 5/5 ⭐ #BookReview

Post script. I wish more fantasy fiction audiobooks would include a bloopers reel as it just brings an extra layer of hilarity to a story.
