Summary

Kellan Thorne loves the Christmas season above all else. He plans a well-deserved rest consisting of parties with friends and watching Christmas classics with Shannon. The Sentinel definitely wants to avoid anything more supernatural than the spirits seen by Dicken's Ebenezer Scrooge. However, fate has different plans for Kellan and his Soulborn who find themselves swept up with gods, goddesses, and mantles of immense power.

As the eternal battle between order and chaos continues to play out, Kellan quickly finds himself at odds with forces beyond both his understanding and ability to control. Lucifer weaves new webs of intrigue with which he seeks to entrap both Meghan and Juliet and pits Maurius against Kellan at every turn.

New and familiar allies put their lives on the line as an enigmatic Druid from Kellan's past promises the Sentinel power sufficient to make both the mountains of heaven and caverns of hell quake with fear. Such tremendous strength comes at a price which Kellan and Shannon must decide if they are willing to pay. To safeguard all those he holds dear, Kellan must breach a celestial treasury sealed shut at the dawn of creation and pull forth a wizard's soul.

A delight once again

Well that’s number three finished and I’m already getting anxious that soon I’m going to run out of these brilliant books to read!

Once again Robert you have not failed in enveloping me into this world of yours.

The pace is perfect and had me in stitches in parts but also connecting with old and new characters alike, to the point where I may...MAY have shed a couple of tears. No SPOILERS!

Thank you for your creativity Robert.

A note to Nick Podehl.

Nick, your brilliance and enthusiasm shines through in your performance. I have listened to many of your projects and even when I read the actual book I find myself thinking “Nick reads this better”!

My kids love listening to you also (well the older ones, unless you’re going to start reading “how to train your dragons” ).

You give extra dimensions to what are already wonderful worlds to get lost in. Thank you for your masterclass in all things Timey Wimey, wibbly wobbly. Your monsters and the way you breath actual life into the characters that I grow to love, learn from, hate and grieve for sometimes.

Emotions are abound

This book was the volume I finished the quickest and have the hardest time writing a review on. I had a few very sincere emotions while reading this book. Let’s start with hate. I know this is odd because I left a 5 star review, but let me clarify. I hate Marius the Sentinel of Chaos more than I can explain in this brief review. Basically, the only villain I have ever hated as much as Marius, is Commodus from the Ridley Scott film Gladiator. The next strongest emotion I felt was sadness. I despise spoilers, so you will not find any here. Just heed my warning and be prepared to feel significant sadness. Lastly, joy was another emotion I felt. Joy caused by laughter, but more strongly, is joy caused by displays of affection that so many of the characters have for each other. Now go read this book and be confident that you will find your self fully invested in this series.

surprising

This whole series has been impressive. anyone who is an avid listener knows Nick delivers as a reader...always. They books themselves are all very good. Witty characters, plenty of action but keeps a story line going. Nick sounded like he even had fun with this one.

if you are like me and have so many books in your library that you buy more misses than hits these days, you just found a series worth getting. I normally go for books 20+ hours but these are totally worth it. Nice job both Robert and Nick.

side note: they mention in one of the books that Nick meets with the writer alot to get a feel for characters personalities and such. apparently this isn't common. I think it really shows in the delivery.

White Christmas; No Scrooges Allowed! Excellent!

Kellan Thorne continues his quest as the Sentinel of Order kicking ass and taking names. His learning is only hampered by his eidetic mind that holds not only everything he knows/heard/read and experienced but by mass amounts of pop culture references which makes it hard for him to concentrate at times. Along with his cast of friends and the Christmas season – you know it’s going to be awesome when White Christmas, Grinch, and Elf movies are competing against saving Michael and his “girlfriend angel”, Merlin, and seeing the birth of Thor and so much more.

Robert Ross has an amazing mind as he captures his audiences’ imagination and attention. Throughout the series and more so in this book he’s juggling a host of characters which he so easily mixes them together to create action yet allows them their own space/individuality and we get this delightful masterpiece! Full of action, suspense, and twists!

I am delighted there are more audiobooks to the series forthcoming because the time traveling, character creations and just Kellan’s ability to get into trouble makes this a powerfully awesome series. This third book is by far the best but only because the foundation has been laid and character development was done in the first two books, now Ross gets to have fun and fun he did with the most amazing storyline yet.

The narrator, Nick Podehl is amazing. He has taken on the “mantle” of Kellan and delivers a narration that is amazing! He can even sing – as a female! I enjoy hearing Podehl’s talented voice as he brings not only Kellan but Aries, Meghan, Shannon, Juliet, Michael, Satan and more to life.

I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys pop culture, adventure, suspense, and fun – lots of fun! Don’t let the epic length of this audiobook be daunting – trust me, it passes quickly and one can only lose oneself in the story. One has a very hard time shutting it off for other things like eating, hanging out with your kids or parents, or holding a meeting. So beware! You will be hooked from the first minute.

There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook. It was clear and well done.

Amazing story and narration. I'm a big fan.

This series is one of my favorites, not only do I have every physical book but also have every audiobook. The storyline, writing, and narration demonstrate attention to detail and a lot of hard work. I especially like that the story shows the good, bad and a lot of grey as each character works to find their way.

If you are a person that likes a good story then start with the first book and work your way through the series. You will not be disappointed.

Keep a box of tissues

Whether you're laughing hysterically, mourning a character's misfortune, or you have a soft spot for cute stuff and romance, this book will probably make you cry. Worth reading. Can't wait for the next installment.

Brilliant story from a brilliant author.

I'm a huge fan of this series and Robert does a brilliant job in creating a thoroughly engaging world and enchanting characters. Even extras who only appear for a scene or two manage to leave an impression, giving you the sense that you're experiencing a real world we might just not know about.

A must listen

After listening to this book after it first came out and then having nothing else to listen to while waiting for more credits I relistened to the first two books and skipped this one. I don't know why. Skip forward and book four is out. I relistened to this book and I have no answer for skipping it the last time. Robert W. Ross has made an awesome world here and infused it with enough real world. Now I only live a short drive be from Roswell Ga. and he has made want to go and explore my neighboring city. Nick Podehl has always brings any book to life. I would and have recommended the Sentinels of Creation to friends and family.
