About this listen
From the bestselling author of It's Always the Husband comes a novel about a love triangle that begins on a fateful night…
There is a stranger outside Caroline's house.
Her spectacular new beach house, built for hosting expensive parties and vacationing with the family she thought she'd have. But her husband is lying to her and everything in her life is upside down, so when the stranger, Aidan, shows up as a bartender at the same party where Caroline and her husband have a very public fight, it doesn't seem like anything out of the ordinary.
As her marriage collapses around her and the lavish lifestyle she's built for herself starts to crumble, Caroline turns to Aidan for comfort… and revenge. After a brief and desperate fling that means nothing to Caroline and everything to him, Aidan's obsession with Caroline, her family, and her house grows more and more disturbing. And when Caroline's husband goes missing, her life descends into a nightmare that leaves her accused of her own husband's murder.
A Stranger on the Beach is Strangers on a Train meets Fatal Attraction in Michele Campbell's edge-of your-seat story of passion and intrigue.

Very twisty and creepy
In this book, we follow two different perspectives of the events after Caroline and her husband having a huge row at their house-warming party and everyone there knows the outcome of the row is divorce.
We follow Caroline as she goes to the local bar to get drunk and then takes the bartender (Aiden) home, for what she hopes is just a one night stand but Aiden sticks around, he is stalking her, threatening her. Saying things that worry her.
Aiden is in love with Caroline, he just wants to protect her. He knows that her husband is bad news and Caroline has asked him to protect her. He knows that her husband is dangerous.
This is a really interesting book because we get to hear from both Caroline and Aiden throughout the book and how they are each experiencing the unfolding events. I really enjoyed this aspect because they both see it so differently from each other.
The ending I thought was really good because I definitely didn't see it coming at all.

Good story, worth sticking with it.
The beginning of this book could have been stronger, and it wouldn't surprise me if some people DNF’d. I had my doubts at the beginning, but it does pick up and is worth the wait - even if I did guess the twist fairly early - or was at least suspicious and turned out to be right.
I seem to have a knack for it now!!

Just goes on and on and on
This book is a marathon, and not worth the time. A host of unlikable, whiny characters that are, quite simply, dumb as bricks. Towards the end this book it became unbearably frustrating as the characters stumble around an extremely obvious 'twist' and t just went on and on and on. I wouldn't bother with this one.
