A Touch of Darkness from Hades' POV (with new scenes)!

Great addition to the series

I read quite a few negative reviews regarding the narrator and it put me off buying this audio book but I’m glad I went ahead and bought it because it was a great addition to the series to have the story so far from hades POV and I personally thought the narrator did a good job. I really
Enjoyed getting a glimpse in to show hades felt for Persephone and not just her side. I hope more of the future books in this series are also don’t from hades POV or maybe some of the books could be shared POV.

Million times better then Neon Gods

I liked the story. The characters were believable and I finished it.

A tiny thing grated on me - the baking scene. First comes flour? Nope butter and sugar comes first. And who adds icing before cooking? So confused and it took away credibility.

I prefer Hades POV.

It's is worth a listen. Performance was a little robotic.

narrator kindof ruins this.

I enjoyed the book, but the narrator who read the the rest of the series would have been a better option.

BUY THE BOOK

this is a truly amazing BOOK! I listened to the 2 Persephone books a touch of darkness and a touch of ruin and they were out of this world. the narrator did an incredible job narrating these and I would listen to any book she reads. this book however has a new narrator and unfortunately it is no good. it is so jarring and so robotic that it just takes you out of the story. I listened to 2 minutes of this then stopped and bought the book.

Could not listen to this performance

I feel bad giving the story 3 stars as I haven't listed to more than 40 minutes of it, so far it is mediocre. the performance is dull and difficult to listen to. Returned the book unfinished.

Stopped after 20 mins, Narration is awful

I'm so disappointed with this, the casting of narration is so wrong. It sounds like a recorded robot rather then an actor, and after about 20 mins it grated on my so much I stopped. I really enjoyed the narration of the 2 books from Persephone's view, and the narrator from those was fantastic at doing different voices to bring it to life. With this book, the Narrator doesn't even try. His voice is has a lot of bass and is gruffly which makes him sound old and stuffy. Completely wrong casting. Considering those listening to this have probably listened to the original, they could have got away with the female narration - she did well with the 'teaser' chapter of this, so dont see why she couldn't continue.

If you like the story, just read the book on this one. This is down right awful.

Awful narration

If this narration was for a free book fine it’s passable. After listening to the first book (for free) with an awesome VA, it was very disappointing. I hated every minute.

good book bad narration

the story is really enjoyable iv read the first 3 books from persephones POV, saying that I didn't enjoy listening to this particular preference as the narrator was pretty bland compared with the last actor.

Narrated horribly

After listening to "A Touch of" series which was narrated amazing, the "A Game of" saga is such a disappointment, the narrator is so robotic and his voice barely changed. sampled a few times and don't want to waste my money, hopefully it can be recast.
