About this listen
I'm not a gambling man. I mean, life's one big gamble, ain't it? The odds are stacked against you; you just can't win. You know there are some people who will do anything to make sure that they win, even if it means eliminating anyone or anything that stands in their way. They only bet on a sure thing...a Dead Certainty.

Interesting!
P. I. procedural with Jack Daniels investigating a race horse's death. His thoughts are presented in an interesting way, even with a little singing! At times it was difficult to distinguish between the characters as spoken by the narrator, but overall it was a good story and a good reading!

Great little story
A much better story than the first in the series, Candy Man, and thankfully a different, much better narrator. An entertaining read with a well thought out plot and good characters.
I received a free copy of this audiobook either from the author or a promotion or giveaway and am voluntarily writing an honest and unbiased review.

Excellent !
Well written short detective story.
Excellent Performance .
A beautiful reminder of Hollywood style detective story with the jazz background.
Only wish it was longer but beside that there is no negative that I can find with this creation.
Recommended !!

Enjoyed it but not as much as 1 and 3
The writing again was amazing and you can disappear into the story. I did find the narration to start with very difficult to listen to, but it got better the more into the book and about half way through really enjoyed the narration. I did enjoy books 1 and 3 more but this was very good just not as good as those two which were brilliant.
Jack Daniels is a very interesting character and cant wait to see how his story develops.
I was given this audible book in return for an honest review which I have done.

Jack Daniels is a likable guy.
What's not to like about Jack Daniels. He's got a witty, carefree attitude, and gets the job done. He's a private eye with an amusing attitude. Miguel Rodriguez does a fabulous job of giving his character life. This is a promising series by a talented writer. Thanks, John Holt for the opportunity to review for you.

A stable murder.
I wouldn't say I'm a huge horse racing fan. Don't get me wrong I like horses just not a betting girl. But I found myself invested in this plot. I wanted to know who done it and why. The author and narrator have a way of sucking you in and making you feel like you're helping with this case. As a sort of sidekick almost. Really enjoying this series so far.
