A Murder on Wall Street takes us inside the world of Captain O'Brian's Irish Pub and Cigar Bar in Manhattan, a legendary hotspot in the Financial District. Investigating the death are pub owners Joey Mancuso, fired from the New York Police Department for his unorthodox methods, and his brother Father Dominic, who isn't your typical priest. Also investigating is Marcy Martinez, a Cuban bombshell and FBI agent who is Joey's girlfriend.

When a customer kills himself after celebrating the night before, the three know something's wrong. Turns out, the customer's death coincides with people losing money - lots of it - and some of those people are very, very dangerous.

A great listen, intriguing plot and very well read. Will definitely look out for another Owen Parr book.

Owen Parr brings another book that appears to be written straight for TV. The characters would all make a good TV series because they are all stereo typed quirky characterisations. If you like TV cop dramas this one for you. Shame about the narrator, I have listened to a few of his and they are all the same.

Having listened to many crime audiobooks, this one (and other Owen Parr books) definitely sticks out like a shining gem. There are plot’s twists round every corner and has a truly satisfying ending which makes an impact on following books in the series.

Interesting cast of characters. I always like the crime genre which includes a religious (or a former) protagonist. This also includes former NYPD & current FBI. The story is not far fetched and given that it is part of the Kindle Unlimited library, well worth the investment!

I read the synopsis of this book a few times but kept rejecting it, eventually only deciding to give it a go as it was part of the Audible Plus catalogue. Joey, an ex-NYPD officer and his half-brother, Catholic priest Fr. O’Brian are an unlikely pair of private investigators who also run a bar together. The characters and the relationships between them are likeable although I do have to suspend belief a bit that a priest would get so involved with investigations - but I’m a sucker for Grantchester so who am I to criticise.
At just over 5 hours it’s a short novella and at this length the whole thing works quite well. At times there’s a bit of repetition - you don’t need to keep telling me that when you hear the street noise you know someone has entered the bar for example, in a full length novel this might have become very annoying.
Stefan Rudnicki Does a reasonable job of narration, the Irish accent is a bit dodgy but overall his tone is pleasant to listen to and different characters are well defined. I’m pleased I gave this book a chance as it’s not my preferred genre; I would definitely return to the Plus catalogue for more in this series but I wouldn’t use a credit to buy one.

Written in 21st century with a Neto Wolfe type book. Much better than a traditional whodunit with police/ FBI.

another briliant book from audible i cannot fault them and the outhers not forgetting the narator. I can only recommend this book!

Wooden characters, crude portrayals of women (one female character is referred to as "big tits"). Narrator (Stefan Rudnicki) has a GORGEOUS, sonorous voice which kept me with the book longer than I expected, but he isn't believable as a New Yorker of Italian descent and his Irish accent is execrable. I gave up.
