Summary

When Feyre kills a wolf, a beastlike creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a magical land, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal. AMAZING

I love this story. I was sceptical at first. It’s a little like Beauty and the Beast meets Ali’s in Wonderland.
The story is beautiful, the twists are delightful and the preference of the narrator is fantastic. 💛💛💛

A sexy reframing of Beauty and the Beast

I'd heard that Sarah J Mass' Court series has a cult like following and now I know why. I really enjoyed this introduction to the world she creates with this dark twist on a classic tale, particularly the descriptions of the creatures that Feyre encounters. There's a love story at its heart and plenty of erotic undertones to fill the gaps. I can't wait to explore the other books.

I found the narrator a little robotic to start with, but warmed to her style over time.

Somewhat reminds me of the beaty and the beast, just a little bit. I have really enjoyed listing to this audiobook!

Absolutely amazing!!!

The story is perfect and I got fully into in that I was actually ready to scream to the characters. Brilliantly narrated and wonderful, can't wait to move to the next book.

Definitely a good start to the series

A very good book. After some of the hype I have seen around the internet I was expecting to be absolutely blown away, but it wasn't quite there.

I loved the world that was crafted, the fairies and their politics... but for most of the book I found the protagonist somewhat frustrating. She got better over time though, and now I look forward to seeing where she goes.

Simply a brilliant writer

I had already read the “A throne of glass” saga. So I knew the level of greatness the story would have.
But I almost ended up returning this book. The narrator is different for this saga and it really sounded unpleasant. I hadn’t listened to the sample beforehand.
Luckily I then remembered that you can adjust the speed ,once I upped I’d very slightly from 1 to 1.1 it suddenly sounded normal and I finished the book.
Somehow the narration wasn’t uploaded in the correct speed.
This book is amazing. I just bought the rest of the series too.

lovely story and narrator

it took me a bit to get used to the narrator's voice as i thought she seemed a bit stilted but glad I stuck with her. after an hour I was hooked on the story and I also thought the narrator did a beautiful job of bringing the characters to life, and now I realise that rather than stilted she just paced the words well. A gorgeous story in all.
