Love this series by Jo Bartlett ad this latest offering didn’t disappoint.
I have purchased, listen too, enjoyed and shed many a tear with this series. I am always disappointed when the book ends and can’t wait for the next instalment. Don’t change the narrator as her performance brings the characters to life. Have no hesitation in recommending this book.

Another great story in the Cornish Midwives series
I’m hooked on this series. At the end of each book you feel that you know characters. The narrator is also very good & brings the characters alive. My fingers are crossed there’s more to come.

Another wonderful Cornish midwife’s story
Another great story from Jo Bartlett. Loved finding out what the Cornish midwives are up to now and meeting the new characters.
Jo has a great way of telling a story about difficult subjects in a sensitive way. A story that at times can make you cry and others make you smile.

Couldn’t put it down. Or rather couldn’t switch it
Same familiar characters, a real emotional roller but worth every minute of your time.
Couple of tricky subjects tackled very well. And definitely gives you well gave me food for thought.

Big change in style
I’ve read all of the previous books, and loved them. Some of the challenges the characters went through were frustrating before, but this time it was just too much. The main character, Ella, was frustrating beyond reason. Maybe that’s realistic, but a huge change from the previous books in this serious style and made it hard to want to keep reading. I only kept it up to see how it all ended.

Tugged at my heart
I loved Ella from the first book but, this book made me have conflicting feelings about her. I admired her strength but I also found her a bit too rigid and “cowardly” I was a bit frustrated by the self talk/doubts and denial that played on for a long time. I love the happy ending but I found myself ready to skip through parts so I didn’t have yo listen to more self sabotaging. My neighbor, who also happens to be a nurse and was a soccer coach for her kids team, was diagnosed with MS in her late 30’s. I was trying to recall how she managed this at the early phase.. it was hard seeing her but, happy that she found gardening therapeutic. We loved her yard. She is much better now.. she said the illness improves as we aged.
