About this listen
The emergence of the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements have awakened society and encouraged women to find their voice and claim back their power. Contending with a host of difficult issues that demand psychological strength - in this crucial book, international best-selling author, prominent psychotherapist and licensed clinical social worker Amy Morin gives women the techniques to build mental muscle in 13 steps.
Delving into critical issues like sexism, social media, social comparison, and social pressure, Amy offers thoughtful, intelligent advice, practical tips, and specific strategies; combining them with her personal experiences, stories from former patients, and both well-known and untold examples from women from across industries and pop culture. Throughout, she explores the areas women - and society at large - must focus on to become (and remain) mentally strong.
Amy reveals that healthy, mentally tough women don't insist on perfection; they don't compare themselves to other people; they don't see vulnerability as a weakness; they don't let self-doubt stop them from reaching their goals. Insightful, grounded, and extremely timely, 13 Things Mentally Strong Women Don't Do can help every woman flourish - and Amy will take readers on this journey with her, every step of the way.

Brilliant book!
I would highly recommend this book!
The way it’s delivered it’s really good.
But the content… so good! So relatable and makes you think about how you may be spoken to or speaking to yourself as a victim and punishing yourself further or allowing other to punish you.
I never saw the divide between the sex’s so much but there is and it’s how we think men and women should be as we’re bringing them up from children into adulthood!
Basically - listen to this! It’s brilliant!!!

Brilliant Read
I loved this book! It is divided into each chapters for each topic and then what and what not to do, with poignant examples. This helped me to follow through easily plus gave me homework for things I needed to work on. I would recommend to anyone and will definitely be re-reading in future.

Unnecessary sexists and pro feministic
Diminishing men, over pro feministic way of telling one side of story flagging things ‘right’, ‘wrong’, throwing the sceptical ‘he was a man, but if the woman would do that…’ proposing hate towards male part of society and really driving a spotlight on made up sexisms.
Powered through 1,5h as thought it’d get better aka neutral, but it only was getting worse. Stopping here and glad I used my prime points for the purchase rather than spending money on this one sided shallow story.
