The story was okay but I hated that Shelby was so weak, just putting up with her torture. Also, the female narrator had the worse accent, I almost dnf because of it.

This book is DARK and has tons of triggers. Please check trigger warnings first.
Shelby Ann is very naive and only wants to be loved. My poor heart breaks at her situation, life is so very cruel to her.
The book is brilliantly well written with secrets, mystery, twists and turns that has me on the edge of my seat the whole time.
I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Bridget and Jake Bordeaux are the perfect duo and did a phenomenal job on the narration!

Bridget and Jake absolutely nailed the narrating on this book and really brought it to life. This might be one of the darkest books I’ve read but I can say that I throughly enjoyed it. It has so many twists and shocking things that it’s super hard to write this review without giving any spoilers!! Very intrigued to see where this goes so bring on book two!

My pet hate are books where it take two chapters just to finish a conversation because of characters internal monologue and some of it I feel is just to fill the pages. The female M/C is a whinny pushover and gets on my nerves. I hope the next book she gets a back bone. This book is dark so please check your triggers. Bridget and Jake do a fantastic job as usual.

I've never clenched my teeth so hard while listening to an audiobook. The most horrendously weak irritating stupid main female character. I don't know what would possess an author, especially a female one, to write such a character. I know sometimes characters start off a bit weak but they usually find their ovaries quickly. This is just a really uncomfortable listen and I'm unsure whether I'll finish. I'll probably carry on with it just until my ears start bleeding or my teeth grind to dust...If I'd used a credit I would've returned it already.

Ignoring the content, the narration is great and I can't really fault Jake and Bridget
