The world crashed to pieces on June 23rd and Adrian Ring wasn't anywhere near ready for it. He had no guns, no food, no friends around, a cat that wanted to slip out the back of the condo and a girlfriend trapped in the heart of the city. This is the story of how he survived. Real, flawed, and raw, Dark Recollections is Adrian's own story of how he survived after "That Day". Told through his eyes as he talks to his laptop, affectionately named "Mr. Journal".

In Midnight, the third installment in the smash hit Adrian's Undead Diary series, the threats to Adrian and his new friends are greater than ever before. Local survivors holed up in an empty factory led by the chief of police are now crossing paths with Adrian and the Williams clan. Meanwhile Sean, the bloodthirsty tyrant from Westfield, seethes for vengeance after Adrian fends off attack after attack to take ALPA and everything he's worked so hard for.

A sinister darkness has finally cast its long shadow across the world, and Adrian Ring now suspects he's at the center of the maelstrom. And he's not alone. Even overseas, his friend Kevin is somehow standing at his side. At Auburn Lake, Adrian and his adopted family finally understand that the dreams they have suffered since the end of the world are far more than restless imaginings. He was wounded badly, and with dead loved ones on all sides, he makes a bold, life-changing decision; he’s leaving Bastion and its people to help the unknown second Trinity in Europe, where a terrible strain of faster, smarter undead still rampage in the streets. Clinging to what’s left of his tattered soul, he must assemble a small team to bring across the Atlantic aboard one of the few still-operational US Navy frigates. The battle ahead is ominous enough, but the journey might kill him before he sets foot on European soil.

Shoreham Port in Brighton, England, has been secured by Adrian Ring alongside his friends, with the five navy ships that made the trans-Atlantic voyage to find the European Trinity. He must find the Soul, the Scribe, and the Warden and get them on their path, as he walk his, but there are obstacles. The undead in Europe are faster and stronger than anything they’ve encountered, and the survivors here are hungry, and desperate for help.

A weary Adrian Ring continues his dangerous push to find the missing members of the mythical second Trinity—saviors of mankind from the judgment of the undead. He’s fought those monsters for years now, facing off against unthinkable threats and challenges to his own safety and sanity, and thus far, he’s prevailed. Others around him haven’t been so lucky, but that seems to be his curse. Now, as he and his precious friends foray north into the heart of England to find Hal Parker’s dad and search for survivors, they will encounter threats they’ve never dealt with before.
