With winter setting in hard, he struggles to remain alive, but his hopes of making it back to normalcy are rapidly diminishing. Then came the night he ended up on his knees with a pistol to the back of his head.

The true story of a medic who finds himself at the site of a horrific accident involving more than a dozen victims. As the medics work to rescue the survivors, Mitch finds one man hopelessly trapped and running out of time. The medic stays with the man, and a conversation between the two begins. It all transpires over 21 minutes, but it changes the life of the medic.

After 47 years of a great relationship, courtship, and marriage, the author found himself alone. His wife had struggled with a rough fight with dementia. Suddenly, she took an unexpected turn for the worse, leaving him alone for the first time in his adult life. He was 64 at the time, but felt more like he was 40 physically and 95 emotionally. 

A conspiratorial tale of the 2012 presidential election season based somewhat on the real events leading up to the 2012 election. Events after the election are pure fiction. The story centers on a manuscript found in 2023 but written in 2012. It tells the story of the manuscripts the author and several of his friends starting about September 10, 2012. 

This is the "backstory" of Finding Myself Again. This story is told to the author as she tells him about her youth. She explains how she came to be taken advantage of by men who were more than willing to use whatever she would allow them to use. Everything was good for a while, but then things began to get out of hand. Each relationship brings more abuse, more scars, and more fear.  

This short work attempts to explain how I write using the "pantser method" to craft stories and books. I've done my best to sum it up in terms that are easy to understand. I've also included some basic writing methods that have helped me write and a technique to help you self-edit.

My real life story of a brain injury I sustained while at work back in 1981. While the day of the injury is described, it goes much deeper than the injury. At that point in time, there were few definitive medical protocols for the physical and emotional healing following a severe closed head injury. Everyone thought I was faking it until an event that was witnessed by an entire emergency room team.

This is a true story, and it was the character that I have named "Ken" who told me this story. I've known him now for about 30 some years, and he really was a lifetime drunk with his career in drinking starting in his senior year in high school. The shame of it all was that he had been given a full basketball scholarship to attend one of the bigger, medium-sized colleges in Michigan. He showed up to the first summer basketball camp absolutely plastered, and they cut him and his scholarship on the spot.

Authored with the idea that too many families, especially children, are losing loved ones without a clue of what is happening and why, the author explains in story form what happens when 10-year-old Mason is told his daddy has a highly advanced lung cancer that will bring about his death in less than a week.  

A young man begins to have dreams that leave him paralyzed in fear. At first, he hopes that these nightmare will just go away. He sees doctors and psychologists to no avail, as the dreams continue and things begin to get worse. 

This story is a quirky little tale based on a smattering of truth concerning a famous man who went missing some 45 years ago. He was never seen again. Nearly everyone who was directly involved that day has died, and I'm getting older by the day. I'm hoping that no one important remembers me from that day. I can always plead insanity, I suppose. We'll find out, hey?

The Man in the Corner Booth tells the story of how a waitress and a tired old man affected the lives around them. 

A husband writes about his romance, marriage, honeymoon, and life with the woman of his dreams. Tender moments of love and intimacy build a strong relationship that can not be torn apart by her history of sexual abuse as a child, and her slow decline into dementia and Alzheimer's. Written by the author of the February 2018 Rave Review Book Club "Book of the Month" selection, The Totally Unnecessary Death of Amanda Dawn, the listener gets to feel some of the joy, the love, the intimacy, the happiness, the pain, regret, and the sadness of this relationship over 40-plus years. 

Verwayne Greenhoe starts this story at one of the lowest points of his life. He explains how to handle similar situations. Touching on subjects such as depression, grief, suicide, and anxiety for his experiences as a paramedic and an ER nurse, the author attempts to guide the listener into the calmer waters of life using situations that he has experienced. Quotes about grief and other topics are scattered throughout the story to help the listener understand that their feelings are not unique.

A story of a 'space traveler' from the mind of a seven-year-old boy as it was explained to his grandfather. Moreover, it is the love story between the boy and the old man as they both learn and remember valuable lessons in life.

A little boy in a small rural town is more than he seems to be. He speaks frequently and lovingly of his 'other family' from long ago. A college friend of the mom, now a college instructor, convinces the family to allow him to 'revert' the boy back to that earlier point in time with disastrous results.
