In this current podcast series, I’ve been using the analogy that an intimate relationship is a lot like owning a car.
There are 3 major phases when owning a car. There’s the purchase phase, the maintenance phase and the selling phase. If you want a good experience with a car, you need to know how to navigate each of those phases, right?
It’s the same with a relationship. There’s the “purchase phase” (meeting, dating and committing), there’s the “maintenance phase” (keeping the relationship running smoothly) and there’s the “selling phase,” (it’s a lemon, it doesn’t run anymore, time to take the bus.)
Every intimate relationship goes through these phases and it’s important that we know how to navigate each of them—and that’s what this 3-part podcast series is all about.
In this episode, the “ditching phase” is explored. Every relationship ends, sometimes a person passes away (if that’s happened to you, I hope you don’t take offence at my attempt at humor by using “ditch), but other times you discover you “bought a lemon” and it’s time to ditch the thing. As crass as that sounds, we need to talk about when to end a relationship and how to do it consciously.
Don’t miss this playful, insightful episode.
