About this listen

The BRILLIANT romantic comedy from MILLION-COPY BESTSELLER Portia MacIntosh. This writer's retreat has a plot twist...

Romantic comedy writer Amber Page is stuck in a rut.

After her editor tells her she needs to "up the spice" in her books (literally Amber's worst nightmare...), she is at a crossroads with what to do with her career.

When the opportunity arises to go on a writer's retreat at an exclusive château in the beautiful French Alps Amber reluctantly agrees, hoping a change of scenery will help with inspiration.

But while she tries and fails to spice up her writing - with the unhelpful guidance of the eccentric romance writers at the château - she meets two leading men who cause her own real-life romantic comedy to unfold...

A laugh-out-loud love triangle, forced proximity romantic comedy from million-copy bestseller Portia MacIntosh.

Hilarious scenes

I loved this story and the character of Amber, so relatable and funny! And as for the performance: the male voices where actually good and not cringe worthy.

4 STAR FUNNY 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I really look forward to Portia Macintosh books as I know I will always love them!

This listen literally had me laughing out loud where it was so entertaining.

Karen Cass is an excellent narrator and she always brings characters to life especially narrating Portia's Chicklit.

I would recommend this listen 🌠

A lot of fun. I think this is one of my favourite Portia books… a little less crazy but still very enjoyable

Finding a rich man

I always love Portia Macintosh stories, full of hilarious self-deprecating humour and her creation of outlandish situations. I would have have happily have given her story 5 stars, we're it not for heavy reliance on the trope of poor girl meeting rich and gorgeous man. None the less a very enjoyable read.
