Cliffehaven, 1945
The war in Europe is over, but for Peggy Reilly and the residents of Beach View Boarding House the effects of the conflict are still far-reaching.

Disappointed
I have loved every book in this series so far but this one was ruined by the reader who not only sounded far too elderly to imitate the voices of the younger characters but had no idea about pronouncing different accents. There were even several occasions when the accents attempted were given to the wrong character. Such a pity. I only hope she isn’t narrating the final book.

Bad narration good story!
Over the years the narrator has changed several times for this series, this in itself is jarring when you bocome accustomed to one persons interpretation, however so far I have always enjoyed the narration of these stories, until now! A very poor choice of new narrator for this book as ruined it for me, I have tried to listen to it but it is awful so gave up and bought the book and read it the old fashioned way. I am sad at this as I always enjoyed listening to these on a dog walk. I do hope they get julie masiey back on board for the last book!

I have read....and listened to all the Cliffehaven books. Superb apart from this one...the reader is ruining the story!! I sincerely hope she isn’t doing the final one!!

natrator left much to be desired spoliling the story bring back the story teller from prevoius books in series

poor narrator
l have read and loved the complete beach house series. Ellie Dean has brought a delightful series of characters to life who you feel you know and understand their trials and tribulations. I waited with happy anticipation my delivery of With Hope and Love. what a letdown. Marlene Sidaway read in a monosyllabic manner, all characters sounded the same, included women and men.I lost all sense of the individuality of the characters. so much to say I choose to read the kindle book. very very disappointed in this audible book and the use of a narrator who clearly had no enthusiasm for reading this book.

I'm so sorry but....
.… this narrator is just not suitable for the Cliffhaven Series! The different accents needed are just not there and it was a struggle to listen to a very boring and unenthusiastic voice but did continue to the end as I love these stories and prefer to listen rather than sit down and read. It's an escape from doing hum drum jobs like ironing, and getting lost in the story. It makes it a more pleasurable experience. I much prefer Annie Aldington (my favourite narrator) or Julie Maisey. Hopefully one of them will be able to narrate the next book.

Narrator
I love this series and for the 1st time l am listening to them. This narrator is terrible. Not only can she not do accents, everyone speaks in the same voice and tone. I'm ready for next book when Julie will be narrating again. Disappointed

Every bit as enthralling as the last 16 books.
I have loved every one of the wartime stories in this series and this one was no different, the characters are brilliant and each book brings new storylines which interlink with each other so cleverly, brilliantly hugging themselves around Peggy and Beachview. My only disappointment was with the narrator who I felt was drab and dour to listen to, not injecting the life and personality into the beloved characters as the other narrators have done so well and the accents were appalling. I don't think that I would listen to another book read by her but thats just my choice and others may like her... Still my favourite series of books though 😊

Awful
Made the mistake in relistening to all 16 other books first, with so much anticipation in the 17th. Disappointment, the voice of the reader is awful, I tried for 4 chapters and had to give up. Shame as can't review the story.

Great story
As usual the Cliffhaven book does not disappoint. What is disappointing is the narrator. I am sorry but she failed too engage me in her way of reading the book. She certainly hasn't got the ability too pull of all the different accent and that is a big part of being a good narrator. Changing narrators after 16 books too a complete new reader is not good. I hope when the next in the series is published we get back to the original narrators but I must admit I prefer Annie Aldington to read the book.
