About this listen

Sebastian Volkov, a fox shifter raised among werewolves, ran from everything he ever loved after a brutal attack that left him fearing his own shadow. That night a single kiss saved his life and left him with fantasies of a man whose face he couldn’t remember. When Sebastian’s car breaks down in a small Washington town, he meets an alpha werewolf who reminds him vaguely of a stranger’s kiss.

A year ago, Liam Ulrich, alpha of the Northern Cascade’s pack, shared a magic-filled kiss with a virtual stranger, the infamous Witchblood child of the most powerful werewolf in the world. Since that night, Liam has been waiting for Sebastian to find his way home. Liam knows that Sebastian doesn’t trust easily, or at all, so he’s going to have to give his prickly mate time and space.

The past Sebastian tried to escape still stalks him, and slowing down gives it time to catch up.

When the werewolves’ ultimate enemy rises up to cast its shadow over them all, Sebastian realizes he will have to stop running or risk losing everything...including his hope of a future with Liam.

Edit: Edition updated to reflect minor character changes, grammatical corrections, and a removal of about 500 words.

Surprisingly Great 😊

I’ve heard another audiobook from this author ‘Hidden Gem’ and was surprised that she had written this type of genre.

Great storyline, MC’s are great 😊 Would like to see if there are going to be more going to be added to this series of two books, as there are at least 4 characters that premised in the storyline.
Excellently written and well crafted for the abuse scene - handled with great empathy.

Lots of great feels and humour.

I hadn’t heard this narrator before, but Tyler Kent has done a great job with this audiobook.

Looking forward to hearing book 2 ‘Witchbond’ next 😊

Definitely a 5🌟 review.

Good story, excellent performance

The Irish accent for the character Liam was a bit iffy, but it was well narrated and each character was individually recognisable. The story was good and flowed nicely. I really enjoyed this and have bought the next in the series to continue.

Wonderful as always

I love Lissa Kasey’s books and this does not disappoint. For some reason I wasn’t hooked quite as deeply as fast as normal, but one I got into the story I couldn’t turn it off. By the end I wanted the next book in the series to be out on audio already so I could keep listening!! I adore sci-fi/fantasy, paranormal, and anything in the general vicinity so this book suited me perfectly.

Seb and Liam were so good together, both exactly what the other needs. Each character is well written and distinct and the story and relationship develop in a really natural way.

I loved this book and can’t wait to get listening to book two when it’s released on audio!

Seb’s story is intriguing

I love Lissa’s Survivor books (which are contemporary and realistic) so this paranormal story was different but I trust Lissa’s writing and I wasn’t disappointed. I’m hooked on her world-building which she does so well and am totally invested in Seb and Liam’s fated-mates story. Kitsunes rule!

Entertaining

Sebastian is described as having a black mother and Asian father. He was dark skinned with red hair and yet the cover model is white?
The narrator is new to me and he did a good job for the general narration, however his poor attempt at an Irish accent was jarring and pulled me out of the story many times. I felt like the final third of the book became repetitive and overlong.
