Good story but disappointing narration
One of the narrators is very monotone which detracts from the enjoyment of the book. Agree with other reviews that lots of words are mispronounced.

Narrator ruins it
The stories are passable. But ugh! The narrators are horrendous. No vocal intonation not to mention pronouncing words incorrectly. Truly awful.

Not overly impressed by the narration or the story
The narrators mispronounce words all aver the place (for example, "runes" is a fairly simple word but the first nartrator gets it wrong throughout) which is irritating and distracting - as is the choice of a non-American to narrate a series that is full of American characters and set in America... Not such a good idea.
The second narrator, while American, is no better at pronunciation.
The basic premise of the story is failry good but the execution lacks a lot. Especially in terms of continuity. Later scenes conflict with earlier details and, all in all, it seems disjointed and doesn't flow well. In fact, the lack of correct pronunciation seems to be the strongest thread of continuity.
I completely lost interest around chapter nine of book four. It got to the point where I couldn't be bothered to listen any longer because I had lost all interest in what happened to the characters. I realized that I'd zoned out of listening for several minutes while distracted by something else, and that I really wasn't bothered by whether I'd missed anything critical to the story or not...
... Time to stop listening and find a book that is better written and narrated.

Not impressed by narration
The narrator has a real problem pronouncing some English words, it's distracting when it happens.

Pretty entertaining
So these stories, the first three in particular are pretty entertaining, the whodunit element is glaringingly obvious in both cases (book 3 is a continuation of book 2), but that's not a major issue.
The choice of the English narrator was weird as the books are set in America, I do prefer an English voice though, being English myself. The decision to give Gwen a Welsh accent was very odd but enjoyable for me nonetheless. The switch at book 4 though, was disorienting, and the second narrator makes even more pronunciation errors than the first which turned me off the books for a while. I came back to this boxset after a short while though and listened to the last books, they are great stories too but the narration is a bit tiresome with some awful pronunciations, including a dire mispronunciation of 'Salem' which you would expect the narrator of a book about witches to get right (she constantly gets it wrong too).
I do recommend this set however, it's very good value and the stories are fabulous, the narration though, well, try it for yourself, see what you think.
I was lucky enough to receive my copy free of charge in exchange for my honest review.
