Summary

He says I’m his soul mate. But I’m also another man’s wife.

It was supposed to be a simple weekend away to forget the heartache caused by my cheating husband. But the man sitting next to me in 1B has different plans. Cash’s whiskey-colored eyes and easy smile beg me to dance beneath the stars, kiss in the moonlight, and walk hand in hand down the streets of Boston. Unfortunately, life has other plans because I’m still married, and Cash James is the billionaire playboy standing between me and my dream promotion.

My job is simple—find Mr. James a wife. But nothing is easy when simply walking into his office and inhaling his woodsy scent makes me feel a buzz like I’ve just sipped straight from the whiskey bottle. He makes me tipsy with emotion. Breathless, fearless, and stupid.

Because no matter how good it feels in the moment, our love burns on the way down.

Whiskey Lies is book one of the Falling for Whiskey duet. It is a billionaire contemporary romance. This book is part of a duet and is not a stand-alone.

Infuriating!

This book is about Grace and Cash. Grace (36) is in line to take over an elite matchmaking company and Cash (Cassius) is 30, a billionaire, CEO of his family business that deals in Whiskey. They meet sitting next to each other on a plane on their way to Florida.

I found this book so infuriating because of all the miscommunication. Ugh! Why didn't Grace just talk to Cash and Marian rather than the incessant monologue! As for her mother, there are no words! The ending is a shocker! Grace should have known better! I'll be interested to see how Grace gets out of this mess!!

The #duet narration by #joearden and #lucyrivers was excellent but Joe needs to work on his English accent. They truly brought the characters to life.

Grace & Cash!

Where to even start with this book! Get ready to be warm and fuzzy and extremely frustrated throughout this first book in Brittanee Nicole's Whiskey Lies! Grace and Cash have an undeniable chemistry. But with Grace's past and her future reputation on the line, she is hesitant to go further than lust. When Cash becomes a client, then she is set, nothing more can be expected. Cash on the other hand, has a different idea. Unable to stay away, he is there for her, all the time in every capacity. But what will become of this? These two are volatile to say the least! Nicole has us on an up and down roller coaster wondering how things will finally turn out only to leave us hanging with a cliffhanger that I didn't see coming! Bring on book 2! I am ready to hear how this is going to go!

Joe Arden and Lucy Rivers are both so good, that I was thrilled to listen to this new author and they give a performance that is alluring and so crazily frustrating! Arden pulls out his sweet, swoony voice for Cash until he needs that coldness, and boy did he deliver! Rivers is our undecided, constantly second guessing herself, and feeling her own frustration along with her emotional tie to Cash, she creates Grace and makes her believable. I loved these two and look forward to the next one.

Very good but ……

The usual frustrations with romance stories. Even the most accomplished and articulate of characters, constantly being struck dumb every single time, when they most need to make themselves heard. But I guess that’s the only way writers can think of to stretch the story out, to create angst and “suspense”. How I long to read of characters that always say exactly what they are thinking. I’d love to read about that kind of spark between the main protagonists.
Sorry to go off on one on this book, because it’s no more frustrating than most in this genre. Duet Narration was the saving grace on this one, however I think I’ll lay off reading anymore of these for a while. Well, at least until JT Geissinger releases her next book with duet narration, hopefully with Troy Duran and whomever. No one too squeaky. So, come on Geissinger, chop chop, giddy up, let’s be aving ya!

Amazing Listen!

Whiskey Lies hooked me from the very beginning! Intriguing characters, fun, steamy, and with duet narration that was perfections!

Cash and Grace had an undeniable attraction from the moment they met! It's a journey following their relationship as there are many obstacles in their way. Cash had such a sweet and swoony side but oh my did he bring on the dirty talk! The spicy scenes were everything I wanted in this listen. I very much enjoyed the characters and storyline but I did find myself also a little frustrated and hoping they would just communicate and put everything out there. Wonderful secondary characters that I couldn't help but love, Of course with being book 1 there was a significant cliffhanger it ended on. Looking forward to listening to book 2 soon.

Narrators Joe Arden and Lucy Rivers delivered a stunning performance. This duo is a great pairing and compliment each other so well. They both really brought out the passion and emotions of the characters, really drawing me into the story.

They have a fling. Until Cash is her next client. Loved Cash, he is a romantic, but he also knows how to take charge.

This was a wide ride & had me hooked from page 1!

This book is about Grace and Cash. Grace is 36 and in line to take over the elite matchmaking company she currently works at. Cash (how fitting of a nickname) – or Cassius – is 30, a billionaire, and is the next CEO of his family business that deals in Whiskey. They meet sitting next to each other on a plane when they both decide to spend a weekend in Florida. She’s there to take some time to get away from the chaos of her life after finding out her husband is having an affair and before she sets her divorce plans in motion. He’s there as a final weekend to himself before he takes over as CEO of his family business. Their chemistry is instant, sparks fly, and they spend the weekend getting to know each other. Only once the vacation is over and they return to their individual lives, they both find out she has been hired to be his new matchmaker to help him find a wife to settle down with. This of course complicates things.

This book was soo hot. It was spicy. It was also soo sweet. I loved Cash the most. Even though he tried to stay away from Grace at first (once he found out she was in the middle of trying to get divorced), you could tell he cared so much about her and would do anything for her. I also loved Grace rediscovering her female friendships after leaving her husband.

I loved the discussions on how she realised how isolated she became when married (even though I’m sure this is not true for every married person).

I also lived for the drama between Cash and his business rival. Plus, the twist that we find out about Cash’s mum was soo tender and sweet. This book was just A+! Looking forward to reading the next book.

Side note: this is part one of a duet and does end on a cliffhanger.

This is narrated by Joe Arden & Lucy Rivers. This narration was stunning! I always love listening to Joe Arden, and Lucy Rivers did excellently. They both brought the characters and story to life! Highly recommend!

Beware cliffhanger

I really loved everything about this story except the cliffhanger. I sometimes dump a series for cliffhangers unless it’s a great story. I won’t dump this one.

Whiskey lies was an overall great story! It hit all the tropes and made me feel some type of way. Brittannee Nicole really did a wonderful job hooking us in, but also keeping us engaged. I was ready for this book! I was ready to fall in love with the story and say I enjoyed it.

What I was not ready for was the narration of this book! Holy smokes… and a bag of chips!! This was one of the best narrated books I have listened to!! The voices were everything… and I truly mean EVERYTHING!!

Joe Arden was the narrator for Cash, while Grace was narrated by Lucy Rivers. And let me tell you, they both delivered a freaken performance! A very unforgettable performance. I mean guys… have you even heard Joe Arden’s narrations? I sure have, and I knew I’d enjoy his portrayal of Cash, but holy crap was I not prepared to fall in love with this man’s voice at all!! He did such a grate job portraying just how much Cash truly loved and cherished Grace throughout the entire book, which is 46 chapters! Lucy Rivers was an amazing Grace and really delivered on the emotion one would expect from someone going through so much tragedy and life changing experiences.

Whiskey lies is an emotional read. It will make you sad, make you angry and excited all at the same time. I thoroughly enjoyed the plot and even though I am fuming at the cliffhanger, I know that will be listening to the audiobook for book 1 as soon as it is available. GO CHECK THIS AUDIOBOOK OUT!! Even if you have read the paperback or the ebook, the audiobook will hit soooo different. PLUS… you get to hear all the steamy scenes out loud!!!! GO GO GO!!!

Hot Hot Hot

From the beginning, I knew the author had some serious talent! I jumped right into this story. The chemistry between Cash and Grace was electric. Grace was so sassy, while Cash had sexiness in spades.
Grace meets Cash in 1st class on her way to a weekend getaway. Cash strikes up a conversation and then orders champagne. They have this amazing weekend and then life happens.
Although you can’t imagine the turn it’s about to take. There is so much drama that they have to deal with and some of it pits themselves against the other. And then…..the cliffhanger. I knew it was coming.
I’ve been trying process all of my emotions. Because this author leaves you feeling everything…happiness, anger, frustration, confusion, love, hopefulness and so many more.
The narration was amazing. Joe Arden gave a dark, rich, smoothe tone to Cash. Lucy did a great job with both the confident Grace and the Grace who felt like she was beaten down for a bit.

Love It!

First the narrators did a really good job telling this story, Joe and his deep husky voice talking dirty panty melting.
Second Grace and Cash's story ends in an epic cliffhanger. Lucky book 2 is out.
I really enjoyed listening to this story. It was entertaining, frustrating and hot.
Grace's boss has given her a little trip to Florida at the perfect time, she just found out her husband has been having an affair and she needs time to think. Cash is taking a mini vacation before he takes over the family business. They meet on the plane and there is chemistry between the two but Grace tries to stay away. Grace's fling then turns out to be a client at her matchmaking business. Cash wants her. What's frustrating is the push and pull of their relationship and everything Grace does just keeps digging a grave for herself as the saying goes because she feels she doing the right thing and she easily manipulated. Love her best friend Tess who is always there to try and help pick her up. Cash is the perfect guy hot, dirty talker, always there for the ones he love willing to do anything for them.

Entertaining!

This was my first Brittanee Nicole's book, and won't be my last. This book is part of the Boston Billionaires Series, and the first installment in the Falling for Whiskey Duet, a billionaire contemporary romance. Cash and Grace’s story is entertaining, and passionate, filled with secrets, drama, and twists and turns. The supporting characters are amazing. Joe Arden and Lucy Rivers did an outstanding job bringing this story to life. I love their voices together. They are perfect as Cash and Grace. This book is part of a Duet and is not a standalone. As expected, this installment ends with a cliffhanger, and I am looking forward to listening to Loving Whiskey, the second installment in the duet. #HomeCookedBooks

Great Age Gap

I really like Grace and Cash. I really love the weekend, they were so free. This book is frustrating at times, Lucy is a mess and Cash is full of anger. I like all the parts of them together, I like they're banter and heat. I also like that the woman is older this time. It's no secret that I love Joe Arden's voice, I'll listen to any book he reads. Lucy Rivers' voice is so soothing to me. This is my first book by this author, I'm excited to listen to the rest of the series when they come out. This ending was very frustrating to me, TG I had the next book on audio.

Wow! My first time reading this author and it was excellent! I loved the story and how it unfolded. Each character was introduced and blended in just beautifully. You can feel their heat 🔥🔥. Love the well written characters and the narrators did an excellent job bringing each of them to life. I can't wait to start the next book totally worth the credit!

These narrators will keep you wrapped in the story!

Amazing performance by Joe, as always. He really makes me feel like I’m watching a movie instead of listening to a book. He puts so much emotion in his reading. I also loved the female narrator! This was my first time hearing her and I’m really looking forward to listening to her again!!! Story is good, though both the MMC and FMC are quite frustrating for most of the story. Great plot!

A Knock Out Performance

Audiobook Review: Whiskey Lies by Brittanèe Nicole.
Narrated By: Joe Arden & Lucy Rivers. Produced by: Blue Nose Audio.

I feel like I should start this out by saying I am so sorry I did not read this book sooner, because it is absolutely amazing. I felt every single emotion you could possibly feel, happiness, anger, turned on, sad and then the ending? I wanted to throw my phone, which is a good thing, Brittanèe’s writing is so well done you’re immediately in love with these characters and are invested in them.

One thing I really loved is that the FMC gives the MMC a nickname; Whiskey, which fits the overall theme of this book. I definitely related to the conversation Grace has with her soon to be ex-husband at one point in the book.

And the spice was at defcon 5; I have now made a note to get lost in a bamboo garden and I’m suddenly very, very fond of balconies 😉

Narration: There is nothing that Joe & Lucy could narrate that I won’t instantly love. My favorite is this is duet narrated, which is my favorite method. They both really know how to make the chemistry of these two characters jump off the pages…or, headphones? Everytime one of the characters was emotional and their voices cracked, I instantly started crying. Which tells you how amazingly well done this
