About this listen
Love Nick and Charlie from Heartstopper? Meet Arthur and Ben!
From international best-selling authors Adam Silvera (They Both Die at the End) and Becky Albertalli (Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda) comes a long-awaited collaboration about two very different boys who can't decide if the universe is pushing them together or pulling them apart.
Soon to be a feature film, adapted by the creator of 13 Reasons Why!
Meet Arthur and Ben.
Arthur is only in New York for the summer, but if Broadway has taught him anything, it’s that the universe can deliver a show-stopping romance when you least expect it.
Ben thinks the universe needs to mind its business. If the universe had his back, he wouldn’t be carrying a box of his ex-boyfriend’s things.
But when the boys have a chance meeting at the post office, they leave wondering what exactly the universe does have in store for them.
What if - in a city of eight million people - they can't find each other again?
What if they do...and then can’t nail a first date, even after three do-overs?
What if Arthur tries too hard to make it work and Ben doesn’t try hard enough?
What if life really isn’t like a Broadway play?
But what if it is? What if it's us?
©2021 Adam Silvera and Becky Albertalli (P)2021 Simon & Schuster, UKCritic reviews
"Romantic, realistic and sweet, this perfectly captures New York, teenage love and life in that gray area when you're not quite an adult and not quite a child either." (Lauren James, author of The Loneliest Girl in the Universe)

Loved it from start to finish
I had high expectations for this story as soon as I saw who the writers were - Two of my absolute favourite queer fiction writers and they did not disappoint! Adam's brilliant storyline work mixes together with Becky's brilliant character-writing and pure chemistry between the LIs. The performances were very well done and portrayed the character's personalities as soon as I heard them. Would definitely recommend and I am eagerly awaiting the sequel

I LOVED IT
Although I don’t like the idea of a woman writing a book about 2 gay men and their relationship I do love how this book was wrote. The jokes were witty and funny and the characters development kept me listening. I loved both Arthur and Ben and thought they were cute but not too cute to the point of being cringe. I was sad about how it ended but I did think the ending made sense. I just didn’t like the last couple of lines. Except from that I loved the book. Would defo recommend 😁

A story full of hope
Such a beautifully written book.
There was so many chapters that I sat there and couldn’t help but have a smile painted ear to ear until my face hurt and there was chapters that twisted my heart.
As always from 2 of the best authors this book is just brilliantly paced and written I’m glad I managed to finish this before the second one comes out in a few weeks I can’t wait to read the next one

Adorable coming of Age Romance
I really enjoyed this book. The two Narrators were so good. They brought the characters to life and made the listening experience an absolute pleasure. The Story is a well written, almost typical, teen romance. It did have just that little bit of "Extra" that all good books do. That magic that draws you in and makes you love the characters. The way the Authors describe falling in love... well it was perfect. The anticipation of that first touch, first kiss, first time was captivating. I loved it and I absolutely loved Arthur and Ben. My only issue really is it didn't end the way I wanted.... whether that is the direction the Authors always intended or they were saving it for the 2nd book, I don't know ... but my hope is that the 2nd book gives me my ending. #teamArthur&Ben

Essentially Five Stars
It’s important to note I only give books that completely blew me away as five stars, that doesn’t mean this isn’t a great book. It IS. I devoured it in a day! The narrators were absolutely perfect, I love Froy’s (Ben) voice for this. The plot was a bit thin with not much happening but I didn’t mind? It was just nice. Excellent narration, nice story, perfect for cold winter days.

Sweet and real
Loved every moment of it, all the searching, yearning and ups and downs between the boys. It went extremely fast and the narration fit both characters. Starting the sequel immediately!
