You never forget the one that got away, do you? Nell Mason is extremely happy with her life–or at least that’s what she tells herself. She’s lucky to have a high-powered job as a lawyer, even if it does come with an eccentric set of billionaire divorce clients. And she’s absolutely fine living with her sweet, if slightly dull, boyfriend Gus in their London flat, where they have very sensible sex once (okay, sometimes twice) a week. She’s definitely not stuck in a rut.

An achingly funny story from the author of the best-selling You Had Me at Hello. When Edie is caught in a compromising position at her colleagues' wedding, all the blame falls on her - turns out that personal popularity in the office is not that different from your school days. Shamed online and ostracised by everyone she knows, Edie's forced to take an extended sabbatical - ghostwriting an autobiography for hot new acting talent, Elliot Owen. Easy, right? Wrong.

Summary
Heart-warming, hilarious and unputdownable. You won’t want to miss this year’s stand out romantic comedy.
This is a love story…
Serena Mills should be at her wedding.
Instead, she’s eating an ice cream sundae and drinking an obscenely large glass of wine in a Harvester off the M25.
She’s left the man everyone told her she was ‘so lucky’ to find–because she’s realised that she wants to find love. Real love.
So she sets herself a challenge: 52 weeks. 52 dates. 52 chances to find real love.
But sometimes even the best laid plans don’t work out. And it’s the people that take you most by surprise who can really sweep you off your feet . . .
EVERYONE LOVES WELCOME TO YOUR LIFE
Critic reviews
"Welcome to Your Life is a wonderfully fresh, funny and inspiring romcom about being bold and not compromising on the life you really want." (Cressida McLaughlin)
"Bethany Rutter’s adult debut is a piece of perfection. I loved Welcome to Your Life, not least because I'm at least 90 per cent Serena Mills. I think most women would relate to this character and will embrace her journey! Five big fat stars from me!" (Katy Little)
"The romance of my dreams! Sharp, exuberant and gorgeously written, it is a must-read for 2022." (Katie Lowe, author of The Furies and The Murder of Graham Catton)

Captured me straight away with its relatability
Wow!!!! I adored this book. Everything about it, from the narration (excellent) to the story. It was funny, reflective and meaningful. Plus sized characters are to few and far between and is so what is needed, for fat women and for non fat women to know what it is like… and the author really hits the nail on the head a number of times. I love a love story and this was that as well as finding self love! Honestly one I had to listen to all times, washing up, driving, walking to car, cooking tea, lunch breaks - that is the testament of a good book.

Utterly predictable but heartwarming
This was promoted to be Bethany Rutter’s first book for the adult market. I hadn’t read any of her young adult fiction but this book seemed like a book for teenagers too.
An excellently written story, well paced, well narrated, and an easy and enjoyable listen. You could listen to this novel in one sitting when you need a rom com sort of weekend. In fact this plot line would be perfect for a film.
I had worked out what was going to happen halfway through the book though, but I thoroughly enjoyed it anyway.
